"They are gone." Cosmo appeared in the secret room.

Fortunately for me, Amiara, the girl who works in the shop let me browse the shop without any questions.

It helped that she had already seen me with Athos before. She has been staring at me with a worried expression once in a while.

I think it might have something to do with the way I was pacing.

"But the barrier is still on. I cannot teleport," Cosmo said, his words causing me to frown in concern. "What? Does that mean they are hiding somewhere, waiting for me?" I asked, my voice laced with worry.

"I think so. I don't know how, but they know that you are inside the carnival," he replied, pacing back and forth, his feline instincts alert.

As the weight of the situation settled upon me, Cosmo inquired further, his concern etched into his features. "How did you find yourself in this situation?"

"I don't know," I sighed, rubbing my forehead. "I have never seen them before, but they seem intent on capturing or harming me."
