2.27% Villain: Puppeteer Narrator / Chapter 1: Rude Narrator

章 1: Rude Narrator

"This is the story of Silas' journey to becoming divine." A man garbed in a white, pure robe said as if he was telling a story.

And this was true as this man was the narrator of that story. His voice was smooth and calming, everyone in this great hall listened with slight smiles on their faces. It was apparent they were enjoying the story of Silas and the narrator's storytelling.

"Silas was humble and too kind for his good." The narrator said with an even voice and continued.

"He was the biggest idiot that every villain would love to kill because of his ridiculous no-killing principle."

A fake coughing noise came from the narrator's back, which made him sweat bullets.

"I am sorry for my rudeness, my God." The narrator whispered very quietly but the Deity behind him heard it without a problem and sternly nodded his head.

The narrator wasn't always a narrator. Before becoming the narrator for the gods, he was a regular human living in the modern era.

However, after meeting an untimely demise due to a certain truck accident, he unexpectedly found himself standing before a powerful deity.

To his surprise, this God appointed him as the narrator for the stories created by manipulating the fates of various individuals.

It remains unclear why this God chose him for this role, and he still didn't know the reason for it.

And this narrator who was once a mortal but now a narrator of a God was doing this job for some years, 40 years to be exact.

Being the only mortal among the hundreds of gods was hard and lonely but he got used to it after some time later. 40 years were long enough for him to cope with loneliness.

And although 40 years was long for the narrator, this was just a short time for the Gods.

Hence, the gods still didn't like the narrator and his once-in-a-while rude remarks toward the heroic protagonists.

So, he was always on a thin thread to hold back his rude nature to avoid being punished by the Gods for an eternity.

Anyway, the narrator continued the story of Silas for hours while calling the protagonist an idiot, naive little boy, harem collector of the century, etc.

The gods were used to these remarks as the narrator was doing this job for some time but there was still clear displeasure in them.

The narrator knew this too, but it was hard and unhealthy for his mind if he held his true thoughts for too long. That is why he continued to do it even though he was scared of the Gods and their wrath.

" 'Death is a mercy for you, Auriel! You will rot in the prison cell after doing something so inhumane like this.' Silas said with a contorted expression. He was mad at this piggy noble who enslaved innocent people and used them as his puppets for entertainment. But this heroic idiot still didn't kill this fat puppeteer because of his foolish ideals." The narrator criticized harshly without any mercy to the noble protagonist.

He hated the protagonist of this story because he couldn't understand the reason for the protagonist's no-killing principle.

The narrator was a human, but after spending years with the Gods, he lost some of his common sense such as what was wrong with killing or other things close to killing. Dying would be a blessing for him instead of living under the gods.

And even though the Gods also didn't care about killing, they still didn't like the narrator's too-personal remarks.

"After imprisoning Auriel the puppeteer, Silas rescued the puppeted humans with a kind smile on his face. He was sad for these humans who suffered at the hands of the evil piggy. That is why he decided to comfort these mundane humans until the guards came here after hearing the chaotic sound of their fight." The narrator narrated with a smooth tone.

But this smooth tone didn't last long and it became harsher.

"Silas was about to go his way, as the guards came and gathered the innocent people, but his gaze fell on a particular woman with enormous breasts. Yes, Silas fell in love with this woman's breast as a lustful harem collector. Without even hesitation, he went to this melon-boobed woman's side an-"

"Enough!" A loud, authoritative voice came from the narrator's behind, cutting his speech, and making him covered in goosebumps.

The narrator trembled momentarily after hearing his God's angry command and slowly turned his face toward the place where the voice came from.

There he saw his God, who was in a pitch-black suit with a hood that didn't fit the rest of its clothes over his head.

"Can't you do something so simple as telling a story in a normal way!?"

The God's voice boomed in the great hall, making the rest of the Gods who were listening to the story of Silas flinch or close their ears with an annoyed look.

Then the God of the narrator sighed with defeat and lowered his hands.

"It is my fault to expect something from a mortal." He said and added with an authoritative tone:

"I sentence you to eternal suffering because of your disrespect!"

The narrator's complexion paled considerably as he bit his lip while clenching his hands to forcefully stop their trembling.

"That is bullshit! All I said was the truth, why am I receiving a punishment like this?!" The mortal retorted in front of a deity. The strings he was holding broke, he was furious that this God was throwing him away just because he couldn't stop his rude nature and spoke badly of a certain idiot. He was serving this God for a bunch of years and all he got was the punishment of suffering for eternity.

Thus, he let go of his respectful demeanor. He was going to suffer anyway, what could this God do anything more than eternal suffering?

Nothing. Exactly nothing.

"Hahaha…"

A few slight chuckles escaped from the Gods who were watching this.

"You dare!" The strange-styled god said and held the narrator's face with his huge hand, lifting him into the air.

The narrator tried to break free from the grasp of the god, but it was futile. He was just a mortal in front of a divine being, there was nothing he could do other than wait for his demise.

"Hey! Can't you cut some slack to this narrator, Adoniel? He wasn't normally like this, it seems he didn't like this protagonist." One of the Gods who was watching this sight said from the side.

"That is true. And if you kill him, then who will entertain us?" Another one of the Gods spoke with a bored tone.

All gods gave their thoughts on this case but Adoniel didn't leave the narrator from his iron grip and turned to the Gods with a vicious smile on his divine face.

"I have a new idea if you are too bored," Adoniel said as he shook Auriel in the air and added:

"How about I make this puny mortal one of the villains of the story that he didn't like so much?"
