"Mistress, we need to find a safe place for you to hide," Remarked Vella's friend's bodyguard, as screams and crashes continued to ring out outside. 

"Y-yes, sounds good," The little girl nodded with a scared look on her face. 

"We should go too, my lady," I said to Vella as I met her gaze. 

"Okay, let's go, I-...," She began, abruptly trailing off as I grabbed her arm and pulled her towards me as cracks spread out on the floor below where she was standing. 

I quickly moved her behind me, Frou moving up next to me to make sure we were fully shielding her, right as the cracks deepened and the floor burst open, several sharp projectiles shooting out. 

As the projectiles struck my torso and pierced through my skin, I swiftly hardened the blood inside the body, preventing the projectiles from bursting through me.
