The phone rang and I picked it up quickly, seeing Maggie’s name flash on the screen.

“Did it work?” I asked eagerly.

Did I finally have a reason to go in and annihilate that pack?

To kill every single wolf there and get my MATE back?

I had complete faith in my beta’s plan. To push Grace to her limit and when she did something that went against werewolf law, we’d strike and take down the entire pack.

It hadn’t been easy to convince my wolf to let her take the lead in this. He just wanted to go in there, tear the place apart and then bring his mate back home. But after listening to Maggie, I realized that she was right. If I simply went in and annihilated the pack, it could make others in the kingdom doubt me. See me as the Mad King that the rumors were whispering about me.

So I needed a different approach…
