章 30: Chapter 30 - Coincidental Discoveries

The setting sun dyed the horizon and the city in twilight. Pedestrians and heroes roamed the streets. Some waited for the streetlights to turn green so that they can walk across the road, some stopped at shops to buy some desserts or refreshments, while others entered their homes to take a rest from a long day at work.

Among them, a young boy with black hair, gold eyes, and an athletic physique walked through the streets in the middle of a large crowd. He stared blankly at the ground as if no strength was left in his body, and he barely held onto the bags of groceries in his hands.

'So, All Might's now a guy of skin and bones.'

'A guy that even I am confident in killing if he doesn't activate his quirk and go super buff mode.'

'Wait, had All Might always been like that, and that his quirk is what causes his body to go through a sudden shift?'

'No, the flashbacks from back then and the meager amount of memories I managed to extract without dealing permanent brain damage shows his stomach being damaged.'

'But who could have caused that? Is it because of that fight with that villain back then? No, that can't be right.'

'For him to lose his entire stomach, and for his respiratory system to nearly get destroyed, only a few villains or heroes out there could do that, unless they're hidden from the public eye of course, but Hidden Order's database is still quite a deep trove of data.'

Just as he descended deeper into his thoughts, he sighed and stopped as he turned to look to the side. Ryuji was then greeted by a small but pleasant house. The thing that would captivate most of the people who saw it was the flowery garden in front of the house full of blooming flowers and plants.

Inhaling the aromatic scent coming from the flowers scattered all around his house, Ryuji eased his furrowed brows and arrived at the door. Twisting the doorknob open, he took off his shoes and socks and placed them on the shoe rack beside the entrance.

Now all alone with no one else to bother him, he pressed lightly on the ground and disappeared like a shadow. The air where he previously stood dispersed and whooshed, but not a single sound was heard even with the absurd kinetic energy that was released from a single footstep.

Years have already passed since he defeated Leader and took over Kryptos, turning it into his own hidden organization and expanding his power beyond his wildest dreams. With the resources available to him, and the personnel working under him, his body has already been enhanced to the point that it can be considered a living weapon of mass destruction if he wished to do so.

As gravity pushed down his flickering body to the ground, he plopped down onto a sofa and leaned his back on the soft cushion behind him. His body slowly sunk deeper into the couch, comforting his tensed mind. Well, as tense as it could possibly be for a being whose power entirely revolves around the mind.

Ryuji took a casual glance at his living room with unfocused eyes.

The room was minimalistic in design, with only a few decorations here and there. There were some bookshelves placed against the wall, a wide TV on top of a table, a sofa and a table, and other necessities that one would require in a living room like seats for guests or a bowl for snacks.

After making sure that no one was spying on him, Ryuji activated his quirk and a floating screen opened up in front of him. After years of training, his ability to connect his mind to others has evolved and become more versatile than ever.

Now, he can even connect his mind to the bio-computer hidden within Hidden Order's numerous bases and could have access to state-of-the-art technology that was created solely for him and his organization.

He was confident that only a few others could rival the technology he has access to as of now, but he still made sure to not implant an AI Chip—a device created by Hidden Order's hivemind of researchers to improve their processing power by leaps and bounds through the fusion of man and science—within his mind as there were countless quirks out there. He wasn't willing to risk his life for convenience when there could be someone in this world right now that could kill him through that AI Chip implant.

'Let's see…' Ryuji rubbed his chin while staring at the TV playing a random channel behind the screen. After living for more than a decade now in a world where the possibilities are nearly limitless, he wasn't willing to risk his life for something as trivial as being exposed because he was staring at the air blankly while all alone.

'What kind of public data is out there about All Might?'

'Hmm…' Ryuji took a deep breath and focused. Information was key, and having knowledge about someone else was precious when it could lead to something more, something that could potentially open up the path to godhood for his stagnant power.

'As expected.' Ryuji closed his eyes and rubbed his glabella. 'Most of All Might's data is locked behind encryptions and is protected by the government. Unless I could get a super hacker with a super hacking quirk under my league, I wouldn't be able to deduce much with this.'

'But this time wasn't wasted for naught. I still managed to see some interesting things.'

'The one that's most intriguing is the villain known as All for One. While he's mostly regarded as a myth in this world, and there are only a few signs out there that prove his existence, a conclusion that I managed to get based on the rumors and vague stories written out by people on the internet.'

'All for One, One for All, isn't those two names just too coincidental? Not only that, but it seems that there was a period where All for One was a messiah, someone that can take away the curse known as quirks from others back in the mass manifestation of quirks that brought this world into a new era.'

'Heh, a quirk that can be transferred from one person to another, and a quirk that can potentially take away the quirks of others. A quirk for all, a quirk for one… It's like a goddamn anime!'

Ryuji chuckled at the pile of coincidences that was revealed to him, and the theories and hypotheses he was continuously making. If he was correct, then there was surely a high chance that there is a relationship between those two different quirks.

'Is it fate? A deceptive series of coincidences, an illusion that guides us down a predetermined route?' He shook his head and grabbed the remote beside him.

Pressing a button on the remote, the channel on the TV in the background changed while he willed for the floating screen to shift and split into two.

'Toshinori Yagi…' Ryuji lifted his head up and stared at the ceiling blankly. 'A person without much of a story in his early years until he entered UA High School.'

'He seemed to have a close connection with Gran Torino and the deceased hero, Nana Shimura. After his graduation, he traveled abroad to America.'

'A little while later, that's when All Might was born. In Los Angeles, California, his hero activities would slowly ramp up as he displayed his formidable abilities and made allies along the way.'

'He eventually returns to Japan, and slowly ushers a golden age of peace as he becomes the "Symbol of Peace" in the world.'

'Later on, in an event clouded in mystery and hidden details, there seemed to have been a catastrophic explosion near Japan that resulted in serious destruction to the surrounding area. Luckily, no one died in that event and only a few were injured. But after that, All Might stopped appearing in the public eye for a while, and his presence in the public turned less and less with each passing year.'

'That event should have been when his stomach has been destroyed, and maybe that's when he fought All for One and potentially defeat him, turning him into nothing more of an urban legend in the underworld and someone very few even know about in this day and age.'

'To permanently damage the world's greatest hero, only someone who wields multiple quirks could do it!' Ryuji's eyes gleamed as he seemed to have opened up a new path from a series of coincidences that even caused him to be dumbfounded.

'Just like they say, Lady Luck gives fortune upon those who are ready to fight and are fated to succeed.' He chuckled at the absurdity of what transpired and leaned forward, staring coldly at the air in front of him as a long list of details was written down on the screen in front of him. 'These two quirks really are quite something.'

'Especially All for One, a quirk that in theory could steal the quirks of others and could be wielded by the holder of this quirk. Perhaps the strongest being in this world right now is All for One, a being closest to forming their pathway and is the closest to reaching the power of a God.'

'On the other hand, One for All is different in that it can be given to others, but All Might is undoubtedly on the same level of power as All for One, and perhaps even stronger!'

'With the data I have gathered regarding quirks, awakening, Origin, and Origin Releases, these two would be compatible to the point that they're likely meant to be together.'

'All for One's glaring flaw should be that quirks were manifested to suit the Origin of a single unique entity, so gathering more and more varied quirks would stress the body and soul to the extreme, but this seems to be offset a bit by the quirk itself. But eventually, the stress could influence the mind, their thoughts, corrupt their souls, deteriorate their bodies, and more.'

'One for All should be the solution to that. It is a quirk that should have been wielded by many other people before All Might. And considering how the quirk seemed to perfectly suit All Might's body, mind, and soul, the quirk itself seemed to adapt to another person's Origin, meaning it's a quirk that can be wielded by anyone…' Ryuji shook his head. 'In theory, that is.'

'One for All would allow the stress to fade away, and new quirks that are stolen would adapt to the body and soul of the holder.'

'We already have some people in Hidden Order that holds two or more quirks by being transplanted with different quirk factors, but the burden on the body is too much and they would die without our support in a couple of years or even months at best.'

'If we manage to replicate One for All's adaptability, and gain more data on quirk transplants, my army would explosively increase in power as a single solider can potentially wield multiple quirks!'

Ryuji can already envision the scene of his super soldiers ravaging the entire world with their raw power. Every single one of his warriors would at least have two quirks in total, bringing them power that can rival veteran heroes and experienced villains.

'But, that's merely for others…' Ryuji's eyes squinted as he stared at the TV and saw a hero that almost made him drool with greed. A hero whose quirk defies reality itself and overwrites it.

A hero suit of red, blue, and white. A hair that is vaguely similar to All Might's hairstyle. A muscular physique that roars with vigor and vitality.

'Star and Stripes.' Ryuji squinted his eyes and tapped the edge of his table. 'The holder of New Order.'

'A quirk, a supernatural ability that can impose an order on reality and rewrite it. A power that can be said to even rival All for One and One for All!'

'Given enough time, her power would only continue to grow to the point that she forms her own pathway and become an entity at the peak of Stage Three, wielding strength that can terrorize this entire world.'

'I already have a blood sample of One for All, so with enough time, I might be able to crack the code.'

'The only missing parts left are All for One and New Order.'

'If I combine those three quirks with mine, then perhaps I can finally awaken and reach Stage Three, opening up my path to Stage Four, becoming a Pathway Entity whose power is the same as a god!'

Ryuji sighed and felt his palpitating heart calm down. Leaning back on his sofa once again, he closed his eyes and activated his quirk, 'Go spy on Gran Torino for me and gather data about Nana Shimura, and all the other people All Might have close contact with in the list I just sent.'

Opening his eyes with a subtle grin on his face, Ryuji muttered with a hint of joy in his voice, "Let Lady Luck smile upon my endeavor, and grant me her fortune."

Hehehe, who would have thought coincidenes would now be my weapon! That's the convenience writing an Author of Fate would give ya.
