Basemmath sipped his coffee, then introduced Alicia to Edwin Hanson, Chuck Hanson's dad.
Alicia saw how smart Basemmath was. He only introduced Edwin after she got paid. If she'd known who Edwin was earlier, she may have sold the Dragon Pattern Vase at its usual price as she wouldn't make extra cash off Chuck's dad.
A tiny blush spread across Alicia's cheeks. She slid the check towards Edwin. "Mr. Hanson, please take this back. Chuck's a good friend; he's helped me loads. I should've sold the vase to you at the usual price."
Edwin was a big shot. He'd already paid, so there was no undoing that. He couldn't risk looking bad in front of everyone, and he wasn't really hurting for cash. He slipped the check back into Alicia's purse. "Cash can't buy my passion for unique stuff. This vase is one of a kind. It's worth every penny."
