章 21: Asking the Middle Boss to Join My Party [P9]

Five days later after the Deya's quest, me and Eilan went to kill and purify some miasma monsters in a polluted area outside the city. And the reason because, this area is for the next Heroine quest. Rebecca the Saintess.
She is the 6th Heroine and the most easiest one to recruit in the Hero's party. Why? Because in the game, the Saintess was able to recognize the Last Hero with her Saint Eyes. She explained that she can tell if a person is a Ture Hero or not, by their Aura.
Her quest was to help her purify the miasma land with her holy power, while protecting her and her 'Knights' from getting killed by the miasma monsters.
That quest was one of the most annoying quest I had in the past. Because when I was playing it, the mobs 'knights' were so weak that I had to run around, protect them, and the saint while fighting the monsters.
This time, I am not planning on doing that again, because I am going to make the quest alot easier.
*BOOOOOOM*
I was watching Eilan massacre all the miasma monsters with her scythe, while I was busy purifying the polluted land using the Legendary artifact, the Healing staff, and with my Max holy magic, I am able to cleanse the area like the Saintess.
We spend 2 days cleansing the polluted land from miasma and its monsters, until we were able to purify 80% of the area. As for the rest. I plan to leave them for the quest.
Next we went to the grand church in the kingdom to meet the Saintess herself. When we reached the entrance, we were stopped by the holy knights guards, but I force my way in after knocking them out, until we encountered the Heroine inside who stopped us. Not the Saintess Heroine, but another Heroine.
"How dare you enter the sacred temple of the holy church without permission! State your names!." That Heroine, also known as Martha the second princess, pointed her sword at us.
She is the 7th Heroine, and she is the captain of the holy knights. The reason why the 7th Heroine is here is because she and the 6th Heroine are connected by the story quest as "Close Friends".
In the game, you will get introduced to the 6th Heroine with the 7th Heroine in the same time. Both of them will interact together in the 6th and the 7th main quest. In another word, if you accept the 6th Heroine quest, the Saintess will be the main character of the quest, while the the 7th Heroine will be the supporting character.
"I will ask one more time, who are you?!"
"We are here to meet the Saintess for-"
Before I could even finish, she shouted. "I don't care about your reason for coming here. You dare to attack my subordinates and walk inside the temple like it's nothing. This means you must be a spy or an enemy of the church." She argued as more knights began to show up.
I looked at the red hair princess with a dumbfound expression. What kind of stupid conclusion was that? But then I remember that in the game, Martha wasn't the Smartest one between the Heroines.
Right after she said that, she ordered her subordinates to attack us.
"Nero. May I?" I looked at Eilan who asked for my permission, and I nodded.
"Just make sure not to make there injuries severe"
After she heard that, she dashed towards them and beat the shits of of them all, without using her weapon or magic, just pure strength.
Martha looked very shocked and in disbelieve by what she saw. She then dashed towards Eilan to slice her, but Eilan was able to dodge all of her attack like it was nothing. This made the Heroine get more angry as she used her Ultimate attack. But unfortunately, she wasn't fast enough to use it.
Eilan gave Martha a flick with her finger on her forehead, sending her flying away, and crashing into the wall.
*Boom!*
Martha got slammed into the wall before falling down to the ground. She used her sword as a support to stand up. Her eyes were raging as she unleashed more of her mana, ready to attack Eilan again.
"Stop!"
Just then, she stopped when everyone heard the voice coming from the stairs. The voice came from the 6th Heroine Rebecca, who was walking down the stairs. She went to heal her friend the princess and the other knights before she walked towards us.
"I give me greeting to the hero of this era. The Last Hero" the Saintess bowed her head to me. While the knights behind her stared at us in disbelief and shocked, including the Knight Heroine who had her jaw opened wide.

(3rd POV)
After the Saintess revealed the identity of Nero, both Nero and Eilania went to a private room with the Saintess for a talk. And also, the other Heroine Martha join them too, as a bodyguard for her friend.
They all sat down on a couch, while having some tea. With the exception of Martha who was standing behind Rebecca, still wearing a frown look as she stares at Nero and Eilania with hatred.
Meanwhile, the Saintess expression was complete the opposite. She was looking at the two with a happy smile as if she finally met her idols or something.
"*Ahem*... so, about my visit here..." Nero then explained about his visit to meet her and his mission as the hero.
The Saintess just kept nodding her head as she listened to his explanation. What Nero told her is that he is here to get the Legendary artifact from the church, and was told by his master to meet the Saintess herself if he wants it.
"WOAW! Your master is the Great Sage!" Her eyes was sparkling like star when she found out about Nero's master.
"I see. I can totally understand." The Saintess eyes then turn towards Eilania. "And what about her? May I know your name, Miss?" She asked with a smile.
But before Eilania could answer, she was interrupted by Nero who gave the answer instead. "This is Eilania. She is my Partner in this journey. And, she is also a disciple of the Fallen Witch"
When the two Heroine heard the name "Fallen Witch" they both got shocked with their eyes wide. But their reaction was completely the opposite. Rebecca was looking at Eilania with a sparkling eyes as if she met a legendary figure. While Martha was looking at the black hair Elf woman with a pale face after learning that she just fought a disciple of a Fallen Witch. One of the Strongest hero in the past, And the most fearsome figure in the history of Forever Land.
After the introduction was finished, the Saintess agreed to go together tomorrow with the knights, to complete her mission. The mission was ofcourse the Rebecca's main quest. Which is to purify the miasma land. And the rewards for completing it was the 6th Legendary artifact.

The next day, they all went to the polluted land. Nero, Eilania, Rebecca, Martha, and 15 holy knights. Everyone, except for the Two, were so nervous and worried about the mission, because the land they are about to enter is so dangerous, and poisonous for those who can't use purification magic or holy magic.
Two hours later after they all arrived there, they were all dumbfounded by how easy the mission was. In the began. The knights role was to protect the Saintess from any attack while she was busy purifying the land with her holy magic. Meanwhile, Nero, Eilania, and Martha would clear the way by killing the miasma monsters. They reach the source of the miasma quickly, which looked like a large disgusting flesh that is beating like a real heart. Rebecca then used her holy power to cleanse it. Turning the land back to its original form before it was polluted.

(Nero)
The knights were cheering with joy because they successfully completed the mission with zero casualties and no injuries. Meanwhile, Rebecca looked happy and relived that the mission was finally over.
"Thank you Mr Nero, Mrs Eilania, for helping us in saving this land." She bowed her head.
"You're welcome"
I looked at her Liking rate, and it was 55%. I didn't care much because I was planning to reject her if she asked me to join my party. In the game, Rebecca will always be able to join the Hero's party after you complete her quest, no matter the score result is. The only different thing about her from the other Heroines is that she would only ask if the Hero needs her help on his journey or not.
That's why she is the most easiest one to recruit. Because she is the Saintess, whose job is to assist the Last Hero in slaying the End Dragon, if he wants her help that is.
I turn my head to look at Martha, who was staring blankly at the spot where the source of the fleshed pollution was.
"Martha, come on. It's time for us to head back" her best friend Rebecca grabbed her arm and pulls her.
"But... is it really over?" She asked with a dumbfound expression.
"What do you mean? Can't you see the land is all gree around us. It's all been saved."
"I know, but... it felt too easy"
"That's because we have the Hero with us." the Saintess point at me.
Martha then looked at me with a weird look as she murmured. "Is it though...?"

After we went back to the church. Rebecca finally handed me the legendary artifact, which was the Holy armor outfit. It was a white and golden clothes with long coat. The signature outfit for the Last Hero.

After receiving it. I quickly clicked Equip, and my clothes switched to the White and golden outfit.
"It looks great on you" I looked at Eilan who complement me with a smile.
"Thanks" I nodded.
I then turn to look at Rebecca and thanked her. She just smiled in response as I began to leave the church.
"Wait!" Just then, I heard a voice coming from Martha, who was standing next to the Saintess the whole time.
"Yes?"
The Heroine was struggling to say something as I watch her getting embarrassed for some reason.
"I... I want to apologize for the harsh words I said to you before." She said with a blush. Avoid my eyes.
"Okay... anything else?" I asked with a stoic face.
"N-no... I... I also want to apologize for my rudeness to you. That's all!"
To her response, I just nodded to her before walking away with Eilan. I could also hear Rebecca chuckling at her friend's action from behind.

(3rd POV)
After Nero and his partner finally left, Rebecca couldn't help but smile widely at her best friend who was still blushing from the embarrassment.
"Was that really everything you want to say? Or was there something you wanted to ask from him more?"
"W-what do you mean!?"
"Oh, you know what I mean. You wanted to ask him if you could join him, right?" Rebecca smiled with her eyes narrowed.
"N-no. You are completely wrong!" She then run off away from her friend.
Meanwhile, Rebecca was laughing at her friend's first crush. She was her childhood friend, so she knows more about her friend's feelings than Martha herself.
'Unfortunately, I don't think she will have a chance to join him.' Rebecca thought with a sad expression.
'After all, the Hero has his eyes on that woman'.
One think that Nero doesn't know about Rebecca, is that her eyes not only allows her to see the aura of a person, but also she can see the true feelings of tye person's heart. This was something that was never mentioned in the game.

Ten days has past since Rebecca's story quest was over. And today is the new year festival for the Kingdom's anniversary. The city streets are buzzing with the people's activity. Celebrating the day of the Kingdom foundation by one of the previous Heroes, The First King. Unfortunately, this is also the same day where many civilians will get killed by the terrorists attack.
Me and Eilan were walking on the streets with the crowds, enjoying the festival atmosphere, despite we both know it won't last long.
"Is the preperation ready?" I whispered to Eilan, and she nodded.
"The spell traps are all ready. What is left is to wait until someone actives them."
Right now, me and Eilan are enjoying the festival while holding Hands.
Why? Because I am the one how suggested it! I told her that we should have fun together in the festival before the attacks happens. And she quickly accepted it.

Dispait knowing that something bad is about to happen, I can't miss the opportunity to spend more time with Eilan and increase her Liking rate.
After the 6th Heroine's quest, I finally became a Partner with Eilan! Which means that I am more than just a Friend to her. But also I am not her lover... yet. So, it is between friendship and love interest. Kinda in the same level as besties.
We both enjoyed the atmosphere around us. Eating some sweet or snacks, and watching some street performance. Until we arrived at the city square were we sat down on a bench while eating our crepes.
I looked at Eilan next to me who was enjoying her crepes with a happy smile. Just then, an idea came to my head.
"Can I taste yours?" She got surprised by my request, but she didn't mind. She leans her crepes to me and I took one bite from it.
"How was it?"
"Hmm... taste sweet." I then showed her my crepes which was different from hers.
"Want to taste mine?"
She got a little blush, but she smiled and nodded, before she quickly took one large bite of mine.
"It tasted good!" She smiled happy.
I then saw a bit of cream on her cheek. So I wiped it with my thumb and then licked it. Seeing my bold action, Eilan face blushed red as I chuckled.
*BOOOOOOM!*
unfortunately for me, my flirting time with her is over with the sound of multiple explosions around the city.
The people began to scream as they all ran everywhere. Me and Eilan nodded to each other and we began helping the civilians quickly.

(3rd POV)
About 5 minutes before the explosions started. A group of people where gathering in 10 different places in the city. They are part of an evil organization called the End cult. They are just a group of crazy psychopathic who worship the End Dragon and believe that it will bring salvation to this world. Their plan was to ruin the festival and kill as many civilians as they can.
"Is the spell ready?" One of the leaders asked.
"Yes. We are going to activate it"
There were 10 different areas in the city. And each area has about 5-6 members of the cult who are planning to activate the magic boom that they have hide it two weeks ago.
Unfortunately for them, something bad happened when they activated it.
"What the..!"
The moment each of them activated the 10 different booms, a magic barrier appeared around them all out of nowhere. Trapping them alone with the booms.
"Why is there a barrier here!"
"What's the hell is going on!"
"Break it, quickly!"
"It's not working!"
Their original plan was to activate the booms after they pour enough of their mana to it, before they quickly leave the scene. But because of Someone who already knew about their plans, and set up a barrier trap next to each hidden booms which would activate the moment the booms are turn off. Their plan is ruin.
The cult members began to panic as they tried to break the barriers, but they keep falling. And what's more weird is that, there was no civilians near them to see what happened. That's because Nero and Eilania created an illusion spell near each area that has a boom. Making the people not getting close to their range, except for those who already knows about the booms location.
The cult leader who is responsible for this mission gritted his teeth as he took out a magic stone from his pocket, which was a communication artifact.
"This is Leader 3! The plan is failed! We are moving to plan B!" He waited for a response, but there where no answers.
The leader then realize that the barriers were also interfering with the connection. He screamed in rage as he slammed the magic stone to the ground.
"Just who is the person responsible for this!"
The cult members couldn't do anything except waiting, until the booms explodes. While the leader cursed the person who ruined their plan.
