章 8: Damien
"Vrrrmmmmmmmmm." Rowan's car sped off in the distance as Jack's car followed trying to cover up the little distance between them.
"Oh, no you don't," Rowan muttered as Jack's car almost overtook his.
"We'll be there in a few minutes. It's wiser to slow down now so we can observe any oddities." Jack, Rowan's butler said over the intercom.
"Got it," Rowan replied as he slowed down.
We're supposed to meet the Addams' men under the bridge, aren't we? Rowan asked.
"Yes, let's park here and get moving," Jack replied slowly.
They both emerge from their car and move stealthily in the direction of the bridge.
After all, they don't want to attract attention.

It's incredible how people will go to any length to get what they want.
Tia believes Bianca's departure from our room means only one thing.
If she's lucky, she'll be able to find a room farther away from her class; otherwise, she'll have to share with juniors. Sharing with juniors is a school-mandated punishment for certain offenses. Putting herself in a difficult situation just to avoid me.
So, who's the coward now, huh?
I won't lie, I'm a little happy about it. I'm relieved that I no longer have to be on guard and extra cautious in the room.
It's annoying that my hair doesn't just stay where I want it to. Perhaps, I should leave it in a messy bun.
"Raven, hurry up," I heard Grace call from outside.
"I'll be out in a jiffy," I replied, making the bun as carefully as I could. I don't want to walk around with a mess of a messy bun, hehe.
"Okay, let's go, I'm sorry for the delay" I continued as I took my bag and followed them.
Today is sports day and I am excited.
I'll finally get to practice the new exercise Mr. Chi Fu taught me.
Saturdays and Fridays are the only days we are permitted to enter the inner part of the gymnasium.
The inner part of the gymnasium is the part that we use for exercising. We take classes in the outer part.
"Oh there, thank goodness no one has taken my spot yet," I thought excitedly as I made my way to the treadmill.
"Hello," said a voice as I set the treadmill to its slowest setting.
"Hi," I replied, turning toward the direction of the sound to see a guy in a black hoodie.
I recognize this guy. He is one of the guys Adrian hangs out with in the cafeteria. We're in the same grade but we're in different class buildings.
"Hello," I replied as I stepped onto the treadmill and balanced to walk in the opposite direction.
"Wow, I want to try that". He said as he reset his treadmill and joined me making me cast him a critical glance.
"You're taking it way too seriously," he said as he chuckled.
Really? If you have any suggestions, I'd be grateful.
"Uh, advice, then? Give it a shot pretending you're moonwalking," He said with a small smile.
"Uh, I don't know how to moonwalk," I admitted, touching my nose awkwardly.
"Are you kidding me?" He inquired, looking quite amused.
"No, I am not," I said, picking a bottle of water to drink.
"Okay, do you mind if I teach you? It will make what you were doing earlier a lot easier." He said, also picking up a bottle of water.
"Not at all, I don't mind, thank you," I hesitantly replied. It's strange how he's freely conversing with me as if we've known each other for a long time. Well, I don't hate it and I certainly do need every help I can get to get this exercise done so I can move on to the next one.
"Before that, don't you think we missed something earlier?" He asked as he lowered his hood.
What? I asked, perplexed.
"I still don't know what your name is. My name is Damien." He extended his hand for a handshake.
"Raven," I smiled as I shook his hands.
Okay, let's get this party started.

Wow, this mission is more complex than I anticipated.
The mission is to obtain a piece of jewelry from an auction house.
A Benitoite keychain with a key embedded in it.
I never imagined so many people would be interested in the keychain.
The lots that had no idea about its backstory would be after it for the rarity. And those who are aware of its mystery "particularly prominent Mafia Families" would be interested in it because it holds the key to a legacy.
Key to the Mascus Legacy.
It is made up of a keychain that contains the location of this legacy and the key to open whatever content it contains.
Apparently, a powerful old Mafia lord with no offspring was about to retire and he was looking for an heir worthy of his Legacy, thus, the existence of the key.
Mafia world Legacies are always brimming with treasures of all kinds. There is enough treasure for three to four families to share, but greed will always be a part of human nature.
At the most recent conglomerate Mafia meeting, many factions proposed monopolizing the legacy if they could obtain the key first.
After much deliberation, the head council agreed to the monopolization proposal. It is up to the family who inherited the legacy to decide whether or not to share it.
It was also acceptable if factions decided to work together to obtain the key.
The Parkers and the Addams have signed an agreement of partnership for this so we must work together to secure this legacy.
Few auction houses have been auctioning Benitoite jewelry and have made a lot of money from it; after all, Benitoite has its unique properties.
Each time word gets out that an auction house has Benitoite jewelry, it's always packed.
The Addams received insider information that the Benitoite jewelry in the next auction is a keychain, and after comparing the keychain images to the developed sketches, it was confirmed to be what we seek, so we must go for it first.
We have the map but navigating the security systems and stationed guards is challenging.
It isn't like anyone else is certain that the keychain is the correct one because the catalog provided no information other than the fact that it was a bentonite keychain, so intercepting it shouldn't be a problem.
The moment people realize it's real, a bidding war will erupt which will eventually lead to a physical battle.
As a result, we're making the first move while trying not to get caught.
The mission simplified will be to switch the keychain with the prepared one and bring the original.
I love that the Addams representatives were cooperating so well and I must applaud their team's strength.
Planting a spy in a prestigious auction house like "Jargonis" is no easy task but they succeeded.
The group of five people with diverse top-tier abilities appeared unstoppable. Four older guys appeared to be Jack's age and one other guy appeared to be my age.
Hmmph, the little guy appears cold and mysterious but the intelligence he displayed earlier was on a whole different level.
These five, along with myself and Jack will be working on this mission together.
According to the information received, the auction house will be open by 9 pm tonight, and the bentonite keychain is the last item in the catalog.
So we have 2 hours to get around the security, get our mission done, and 2 hours to escape.
"We will hit the road in 3 hours time. Why don't we have lunch and get to know each other while we're at it".
A guy with a mole at the side of his eyes said.
"I'm Mark, and I'm a hacker from the WTH organization" the guy with a mole continued.
Wow, that's huge. Not just anyone can be in the World Top Hackers organization. It's an untraceable independent organization with a global reputation.
So I'm kind of working with a big shot?? Hehe.
"My name is Jude. Physics and engineering account for most of my success. I don't have much to say about myself, all I want is for this mission to be a success." A redhead guy said.
"My name is Craig, Jude and I are brothers. I had been trained to be a Northern gate soldier but I escaped before the selective recruitment." A guy with Auburn hair said.
The Northern gate?? I repeated curiously.
"The Northern gate is a secret organization that claims to recruit people in order to train them and give meaning to their lives. Of course, it's a lie. Anyone unlucky enough to be recruited once will be subjected to a series of training that'll push them to their limits. Then they go through a wilderness survival test and those who survive go through selective recruitment before becoming a member.
I figured I wouldn't make it through the survival test so I devised an escape plan with two of my friends. Unfortunately, only two of us were able to make it. George and I ." Craig said.
I am George, uh, the George in Craig's story so it's the same story. I am a strategist.
Jack introduced himself as a tracker with basic skills.
I don't trust his choice of words, in the least.
From my observation of how he handles things, he must be keeping a whole lot of secrets.
"My name is Addams Adrian and I'm still in high school." the little guy with blue eyes said.
He's an Addams, uh. It's no wonder his intelligence piqued my interest during the planning process.
Oh, it's my turn.
"My name is Rowan Parker. I am also in high school." I said with a smile.
