"Cut?!" Cael grasped for his heart. "Gin, I can heal missing limbs, but that doesn't make losing them any less painful!"
"Mistress, don't worry, Mimi will blow on your wounds and they will hurt less!"
Cael shook his head in disbelief. Sometimes Mimi really showed her inhuman nature. But the idea was solid.
"I'm sure that Dante had some way to make his operations on people painless," he said. "Or at least something to knock them out. Let's find that something first, and then… do the thing?" Cael cringed slightly.
Ginevra's shoulders fell slightly. "Right. But if we don't find it, you will still cut my fingers off! And the scales off my face… And other parts," she scowled. "Don't doubt that I can bear the pain."
"I never said that, Gin. But I'm much weaker in spirit than you… I don't know if I myself could bear it!" Cael said, half-jokingly and half-seriously.
Aaaand this is the end of this act. Phew.
Not the most engaging chapter I wrote, but it was necessary to tie things together, I believe.
