This was it. The first glimpse of the looming threat, of the inescapable enemy… The descriptions from the System didn't give it justice.
Cael ran as fast as he could, but the Starspawn was like a star that blazed through the skies, leaving a smoky trail behind it. It didn't run—it flew! Straight to the Royal Tower-Palace, where it stopped to hover a dozen meters in the air.
Cael jumped to the roof of the nearby two-floor-tall house, and from there to another, four-floor-tall. From this height, he could see the Starspawn better.
It looked like a suit of misshapen, impractical metal armor. Each part of the armor was covered in mysterious lines. Unlike in real armor, they weren't connected by any means, but floated in the air, bound loosely together by unfathomable magic. Instead of a man inside the armor suit, blue energy glowed within, pulsing like a heartbeat, pouring through the cracks between armor pieces.
What? That's fool-proof logic right here.
