Well, it was halfway through February now, and it almost felt like time had passed in the blink of an eye. Classes were keeping me quite busy, not that I had much else to occupy my time. And, to make things worse, all everyone on campus seemed to be talking about was the holiday. It was Valentine's Day, and it was major for most people, whether they were dating someone or not.

If people were single on this holiday, they planned to go to a party or a bar and get a date before the night was over. Many of them thought this was a time-tested strategy for meeting your future spouse. I thought that it was a bunch of nonsense that should be eradicated.

I didn't get this holiday. I didn't really understand why people were so obsessed with it. What was going on with them? What about this day made them all act like love and sex were the only things that were important to them?
