Heading into the other room, we settled into the chairs that were familiar to me and I watched as Helen set plates for the three of us. She had probably still been cooking like I was here. Making enough for four people, herself included, and then saving the rest as leftovers or donating them. She was eating in the kitchen though, while we were in the dining room.

"Now, sweetheart, what is it that you want to talk about?" My dad prompted me as soon as Helen was out of the room.

"Well, I met someone, and I wanted to tell you about him." I was beaming and looking between them, trying to make sure that this wasn't the worst situation in the world. I didn't want them to hate me for what I was about to tell them, but I also didn't want to hide it from them. I wanted them to be happy for me, and to accept my relationship with Elias.
