章 87: Murderous Rush

Much to Laemno's surprise, the beam deviated to either side of the Tithekeeper as its shield shone once more, easily withstanding the brunt of the spell. 

"Mere Mana manipulation won't allow thee to pierce our defense, Fathomless One," sneered one of the human-faced eels. 

Laemno bit his lower lip to stifle his frustration, knowing very well that it was trying to taunt him. His wits had been slowly getting overwhelmed by an uncharacteristic bloodlust, and it was taking all he had to restrain these new urges and maintain a calm head. 

He took a deep breath, analyzing the current situation. Finding an opening to attack is simple enough, but there's no point if I can't reach its body. It knows this, which is why it hasn't been constantly launching bolt after bolt.

A quake shook the Valley of Eventide, followed by a show of lights that glistened closer and closer to Laemno's location.
