Outside of the hole, Darian stood still. He had witnessed everything that had happened and he had no idea what to do.

He was too scared to jump into the hole, and even if he did, what help could he have offered? He didn't inherit the witch gene like his sister. Also, the witch's camp was far from here, so the witches use teleportation skills. He couldn't go there and call for help.

He, Diana, and his grandmother had a spare cottage closer to the town, where he lived with them.

Usually, he spent the time alone there because Diana always went with their grandmother to the witch's camp to train.

They had left a few days for the bonfire moon night and were not back yet. He had refused to go with them because everything and everyone in the witch's camp reminded him of how much of a loser he was.

He could hear an echoing banging sound coming from the hole and he grew fearful. He couldn't go to the witch's camp, he had no teleportation skills.
