The dim light of the room flickered as Qi Yun's cold blue eyes narrowed slightly. The worn-out bed creaked as he shifted, the harsh edges of the world's will still lingering in the air around him.

The light ball representing the world's will hovered hesitantly, aware of Qi Yun's growing impatience.

"Saving the world is one thing," Qi Yun began, his voice laced with a cold detachment, "but this body of mine is too weak. My soul and body are tearing each other apart. I can't even stand properly in a real battle, let alone deal with that BUG and its harem of love-struck fools."

The world's will trembled slightly, its bluish hue flickering as it processed Qi Yun's words.

It knew the truth of his condition. The tearing pain that ripped through his body was only a prelude to what would happen if the soul and body failed to fuse completely.
