章 21: Meeting Leaf Village blacksmith
The next morning, inside his room, Vie was reading a map of Leaf Village he had bought yesterday.
"So this village is located in the Dwarven Kingdom of Gweliven…"
Below the map of the village, there was the map of its surrounding areas, as well as information about them.

– A wide open plain filled with monsters that travel in groups.

"Although I would like to explore the surroundings of the Leaf Village with Lux, I will tell him that we should split up and that we will get back together later."
Viel went out of his room and knocked on Lux's door.
"Lux! Are you there?"
No matter how loud Viel asked no one answered.
"He should have already gone to the guild. How impatient!"
He was a little angry at his little brother who didn't wait for him after Viel waiting for him for two years. Viel prepared and set out to the Adventurer's Guild.

When Viel reached the Guild, he found Lux in front of the Bulletin Board where all the Guild Quests were posted. Some of the quests even offer low-grade Beast Cores as rewards.
"Lux!" Shouted Viel.
"You were in such a hurry that you couldn't wait for me, could you?"
"Sorry Big Brother. I was so excited about it, that I couldn't contain myself."
"It's okay, but think twice next time." Viel reprimanded Lux.
"Hi!"
Suddenly, a cute little Dwarf walked toward Viel and Lux. It was none other than Colette who had tried to befriend them a day ago.
"Good morning, Colette," Viel greeted.
"Are you here to take some quests as well?" asked Lux.
"Yes!"
"Good luck."
"Be careful. There are a lot of dangers out there." Viel warned.
They wanted to talk more, but the glares from the Dwarves who accompanied Colette were starting to make them feel a little uncomfortable.
"Lux, I wanted to talk to you."
"What happens?"
"I think we should split up and get back together later when we are stronger. I hope you don't mind."
"It's okay Big Brother, I understand it. Also, I think it is a great idea. Do you have information about the hunting grounds around Leaf Village?"
Seeing that he didn't hurt his little brother, Viel's heart eased a bit.
"Yes, I bought a map yesterday."
"Anyway, I will give you a list with the bosses and Alpha-monsters of every zone. I got that information from the Elysium Compendium."
"Thank you very much. What a caring little brother I have."
Lux asked the Guild Receptionist for a paper sheet and wrote down the information.
"Here you have it."
Viel picked up the paper and hugged Lux and stroked his hair.
"Thanks."
Viel approached the bulletin board. The only quests remaining were chores like gathering herbs, helping with village repairs, and escort missions.
Deliberating for a while, Viel decided to choose the quest to help the village repairs, it was about repairing a roof. Viel thought that it would help him improve his reputation across the village.
After Viel registered the quest with the Guild Receptionist, he immediately headed to his destination.
After a few minutes of walking, he arrived and he couldn't believe how lucky he was. Actually yes, you know…the luck stat.
The "house" he needed to repair was in fact Randolph's smithy.
He entered and found Randolph inside taking a break seated near the counter.
"Hello Mr. Randolph. My name is Viel and I have come to complete the quest you posted on the Guild."
"I already forgot about it. No one wants to do a quest such as this one. Please, come and sit here so I can explain the details to you."
Viel did as Randolph said and seated in a chair next to him.
"I need you to repair the roof of my smithy. After the years it has deteriorated a lot and it makes it more difficult to Blacksmithing" Randolph turned and pointed at a pile of planks and nails. "You can use them to repair it. If you need more don't doubt asking for them."
Viel got up from the chair and went to pick up the materials.
"Thank you for trusting me. I will make it to the best of my abilities in the less time possible."
Randolph slapped Viel's back and laughed.
"Don't worry. I already heard of you from Annie. I will go to work." Randolph said as he entered and went to work.
Not wanting to lose more of his precious time, he summoned Ferto and instructed him to help him.

After some hours of working, they finally finished repairing the roof. They needed to ask Randolph for more materials in some cases, but they did a splendid job.
"Oh, oh. What a good job! It seems that friend of yours helped you a lot. You took a lot less time than I thought it would take."
"I hope you like it and it endures." responded Viel. "And he is Ferto, my summon and number one helper." he said as he pointed to Ferto.
"What a good summon he is. I can see the armor he is wearing is the work of a master." Randolph said.
"He isn't wearing it, he is it. Back in my home, there is a Grand Master Blacksmith who is reaching the Zen Master stage. It's a pity he didn't have a Transcendental Flame to forge it. If he had one, the armor would have reached Legendary Rank instead of remaining at Pseudo-Legendary. I infused a soul in the armor resulting in him." Viel grabbed Ferto's shoulder.
"Mmh... I can see you know a little about Blacksmithing and forging." Randolph was stroking his beard while thinking deeply about something.
"Nothing much. Only that while I was waiting for my brother I studied about swords and different weapons along with their structure and making process, so I know a little about it."
"Do you want to learn Blacksmithing?" Randolph asked as he sized Viel up and down. "What do you think? Anyone can learn it as long as they are passionate about the craft. Do you want to become my apprentice?"
Viel thanked the heavens as he obtained something he didn't think would obtain so early and easily.

– Randolph is currently looking for an apprentice to pass his craft on to. If you decide to accept this quest, you will gain the Blacksmith Subclass as a reward.
– This is an optional quest. You can choose to decline his offer if you don't want it.
