Chapter 379: The Fall of the High Elves - Part 3

Faced with the heavy hammers raised by the orc warriors, the elven soldiers instinctively raised their shields to block, following their military training.

The orc warriors' movements were full of openings. As long as they could withstand the first blow, the elven soldiers were certain they could kill these foolish, massive beasts in the next round of counterattacks.

If they could withstand the first blow...

Like being hit by a charging rhino, a terrifying force that numbed the mind instantly arrived. The elven soldiers, completely unprepared, were mostly sent flying, knocking over their comrades behind them. While still in mid-air, the elves nearby could see an unnatural twist in the victim's left arm.

There were at least ten places where the victim's arm was bent, turning into a snake-like shape in an instant. No need to ask, it was a complete comminuted fracture caused by a massive force.

Whether the orc warriors were chopping down, sweeping up, or slashing sideways, each heavy blow sent at least one elven soldier flying into the air, armor and all.

Such rampant power easily surpassed the elves' closed and impoverished imagination.

The orcs in close combat were wreaking havoc.

More than two hundred gaping holes appeared instantly along the battle line.

Lord Sagunar, who had just argued with Alleria, was on the front line. He himself was hit by an orc's heavy hammer on his shield, but his superior elven strength saved his life. Even though he barely held on, a burning sensation came from his left arm - he had sprained it.

His adjutant next to him wasn't so lucky, his shield was directly shattered into three pieces. The orc smashed his adjutant's brains out with a backhand swing of his hammer.

A disheveled Sagunar barely managed to kill the orc in front of him, only to find that his side was already empty.

A quick glance around, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of despair. Over fifty elven soldiers at his side had been wasted in just one round of attack by a mere ten orcs. Although only about a dozen had actually been killed, the rest were either unable to fight due to broken arms, or they were simply scared witless, unable to rejoin the battle in a short time.

Not to mention that more orcs were charging out of the fog at this time.

"Covering spell fire! Don't stop!" Kael'thas's command was textbook perfect.

If he didn't want his vanguard to collapse, temporarily suppressing the enemy's momentum was a must!

The flames, theoretically capable of destroying all mortal armed forces, descended once again, scorching the earth and burning these emerging enemies.

However, not a single enemy fell.

Because these enemies had bodies even larger than the orcs, two heads, and several glaring protective spells.

Blazing Barrier, which could absorb fire damage. Ice Barrier, which could absorb all damage. Magic Suppression, which reduced magic damage and healing effects. If this wasn't targeted, then it was a lie!

These huge monsters, capable of fighting, resisting, and casting spells, took heavy steps that could shake the earth, casting various instant spells to counter the elven mage group, while approaching the elven infantry line that was already somewhat collapsing.

Kael'thas turned pale.

"Send the order, let the arcane constructs and mountain giants charge!"

The battle had reached this point, and Kael'thas was very frustrated. He had to prematurely deploy the high elves' trump card. Using arcane constructs as guards was a policy of Silvermoon City, which could compensate for the elves' lack of close combat capabilities.

But the mountain giants were different.

Strictly speaking, the mountain giants were originally recruited by the great druid of the night elves after communicating with the mountain giants and gaining their approval. As the high elves accepted exile and came to present-day Quel'Thalas, they basically lost contact with the mountain giants. The ten mountain giants present were those who were willing to follow the high elves to Lordaeron, recruited with the help of a few druids. They were the precious darlings of the elven race.

Now Kael'thas had to play this card prematurely.

The appearance of the mountain giants was undoubtedly shocking.

With a humanoid form, over thirty meters in height, and a body made of granite-like hard rock. Their arms alone were as thick as a carriage, and they had skin that could resist most cold weapons and a strong resistance to magic.

These elemental creatures were undoubtedly war machines.

The mountain giants, wielding huge tree trunks as weapons, easily attracted the attention of the Horde. The Horde immediately dispatched weapons to deal with them.

Gronn!

Compared to these terrifying creatures that were almost at the top of the food chain in the world of Draenor, the four or five-meter-tall, already terrifying ogres were just a degraded version of the Gronn.

With a clear inverted triangle body shape, over ten meters in height, at least twice as fast as the mountain giants and with no less strength, the appearance of the Gronn completely tipped the scales of victory towards the Horde.

The powerful mountain giants were finished in less than three minutes under the siege of several Gronn. Not to mention the smaller and slower arcane constructs.

The entire front line of the elven race had been completely shattered.

At this point, Orgrim Doomhammer raised his weapon, and a robust orc immediately picked up the huge horn that had been hanging from the command post to the ground, filled his lungs with all the air he could muster, and blew.

A deep and clear war horn pierced the entire battlefield.

The next instant, countless fully armed orc soldiers charged out of the fog.

Unlike the previous orcs who were dressed like beggars, these orcs were armed to the teeth. They wore heavy black iron armor, black steel helmets, and the horned spikes on their shoulder armor pointed to the sky.

They had several small axes for throwing hanging around their waists, a fan-shaped shield in one hand, and a huge double-edged battle axe or war hammer in the other. Their heavy leg armor and iron boots left deep footprints on the verdant grassland with each step, and the clanging sound of their metal equipment running filled the air.

There was no formation, only the momentum of a rushing river.

Like rivers converging into the sea, countless orc elite soldiers formed streams of iron, like army ants on the move, filling all the gaps in Kael'thas's field of vision.

They appeared like this, covering the mountains and plains, like a tsunami pushed up on the surface of the sea during a storm. The huge waves easily crushed everything in their path.

"No..." With Prince Kael'thas's cry, almost all the strong hands around him had consciously thrown themselves into the front line, trying to stabilize this collapsing battle line.
