章 30: Shadows of the Past, Shadows of the Future

As I slowly regained consciousness, I found myself surrounded by three familiar figures. Sitting across from me were Grandma Helene and Mother.

The third person, cradling me in their arms, remained obscured from view due to my limited perspective.

"You're finally awake, little one," a gentle female voice spoke, resonating with a sense of familiarity.

I know this voice!

It is Grandma!

As if to prove my guess, the person who was holding me lifted me up, turning my face towards herself.

"Granmma?" I muttered subconsciously.

It was indeed Grandma. Not Grandme Helene but the other one. From father's side.

She was Grandma Salma!

"You recognize me?" Grandma Salma asked. "And you can already speak?"

I noticed a strange light passing through her eyes. Did she notice anything?

Then she smiled even more. "It seems you are intelligent as they say. How cute."

"...Granmma." I managed to utter, my words still stumbling.
