章 23: Chapter 22

Jace was heading toward his room when he bumped into Itzy. They both paused upon seeing each other, feeling the awkwardness in the air. After the conversation between the four guys and Itzy in the garden, they weren't able to talk to each other again, despite Laszlo's earlier suggestion to talk the next day.

Itzy avoided eye contact and was about to walk past Jace when Jace stepped in the direction where Itzy was about to pass, inadvertently blocking her path. Itzy's eyebrows immediately furrowed, but she didn't look at Jace again. However, when she attempted to go on the other side, Jace took a step in that direction as well. Jace suddenly felt embarrassed, so before he could hear any potential comments from Itzy, he quickly spoke up.

"Sorry," he said, gesturing for Itzy to go ahead.

Itzy turned to Jace with a disapproving look. "What sorry? It's obvious you did it on purpose."
