A hint of hatred and relief was in Penny's voice as if she was happy that her mother was gone.

The words stabbed Penny hard. The girl most hated her for leaving her alone. She was the culprit here.

Cassey swallowed the lump and took a deep breath. 

"Of course, behaving like a princess is crucial. But a governess is hired to teach you about subjects. Like math, language, literature, and politics. One day, you will take the position of your father. You have to lead the dukedom. 

You will need all of that then." She pressed when Penny furrowed her brows.

"I am not planning to live that long. I will give you one more year only." huh? As if realizing she had lost her temper and made a mistake, Penny shook her head. "I mean you are only going to stay for a year as my governess. I am not going to live my long life with you."
