章 378: End Limits

"His face is pale." Ana whispered with desperation in her eyes, "it had been two days, Garrison." 

He felt pained by her voice. He wanted to touch her cheeks and assure her but he had no words left.

Carol had tried the medicine on the maids but it did not work as he had thought. The woman was adamant to believe that the maid was a weak person, Rowan is not. Perhaps if she could test it on Ana, she could be sure.

When he offered himself, the woman said it would be fatal. If he could not heal, who would be there to help Rowan. But if it comes to Ana, he knew the medicine would not work on her in the first place. She.. would not be haunted by nightmares either. 

Garry closed his eyes again feeling exhausted.

"You went to talk to lady Caroline. What did she say?" Ana pressed. Her eyes filled with unshed tears.

"The wound had been taken care of. He would soon wake up." he touched her cheeks softly but she pushed his hands away.
