"I know you saved him." his perfectly golden brow raised high followed by a chuckle.
"You are placing too much confidence on me." he took a step closer with a predatory look in his eyes but she held his gaze with his lips slightly curling. The ashes still reminded her how life did not hold any value.
No matter how much she tried, many were going to die. But that did not mean she would stop trying.
"I have confidence that you will not betray me for killing Luca when you have power to save him." his hands touched her cheeks and she held her breath instinctively. His fingers moved from her cheeks and stopped under her chin.
"You are right. I replaced him and his sister with already dead bodies matching their structure. and covered their faces with a black cloth." his fingers moved to her lips and rubbed the lower lip. It was still swollen from the events of last night yet he wanted nothing more than to press her on the wall and taste them again.
