Adrienne was expecting her mother, Hunter, and Uncle Reese to visit her that day. Since she was limiting her exposure outside until Alistair and Ayla were married, the two were expected to hold their wedding in two weeks. Her brother and Uncle Reese were aware of her circumstances and agreed to her plan to lie low. 

It was the first time her mother was visiting the home she shared with Lennox, and Adrienne made sure that her mother felt welcomed and comfortable. She helped clean the house from top to bottom, asked the cook to prepare her mother's favorite meal, and even bought fresh flowers to brighten up the space.

Adrienne wanted everything to be perfect for her mother's visit, as she knew how much it meant to both of them to spend quality time together. It felt like such a long time since she'd seen her, but Hunter assured her that their mother's recovery was going well.
