章 50: Chapter 50 - Are We Under Attack?

Valerie had returned to her workshop where Connor was waiting after retrieving the Scepter of Dusk. The scepter was tucked inside a special type of cloth that was able to hide the sinister energy of the scepter plus prevent it from being detected by other relics or relic users with detection abilities. 

Valerie smiled coyly like nothing ever happened as she switched personas almost like swapping outfits. A very eager Connor's eyes lit up when he saw Valerie return moments ago, almost making her feel guilty for deceiving him like this. "H-Hey, you're back. That took a while. Is everything okay? Did you manage to find what you needed?" 

She put on her best ditzy girl persona and stuck her tongue out coyly, "I'm sorry! I'm a real messy person as you can see from my workshop. My room was a total mess too so it took me a while to retrieve this!" Valerie took something tiny out of her pocket and showed it to Connor who was staring curiously. It looked like a toothpick.
