[Notice: Initiation into Assassin Guild confirmed. Some changes have been made to blessings to aid your progress. Please check your status to confirm.]

[Notice: Non-sentient Essence lifeform detected in Host's possession. Host is advice to put it in the {Fool's Sanctuary} for upgrades.]

**

I entered the {Fool's Sanctuary} through Gandr and arrived in the familiar study which was the centre of the sealed space.

I took a seat at the desk and browsed through my Interface notifications.

**

[Message: Initiation into Assassin Guild confirmed. Some changes have been made to blessings to aid your progress.]

[Notice: It has been determined that Mischief Points will be the most important Interface resource to the Host. As a result, the Host would no longer earn Attribute Points from {Queen Hel's Favour} but Mischief Points instead.]

**

I didn't know what to make of the message. I wasn't particularly happy or disappointed.

When I thought about it, removing the AP received from Hel's Favour was just a matter of time. If I continued earning AP from assassinations like I was, I would become too strong too fast that working as an assassin would lose meaning.

The choice to replace AP with MP was a bonus as far as I was concerned. I would be glad if all I had left was just experience boost.

I needed to adjust my plans a bit. MP was good and all but it didn't immediately translate to a boost in combat strength like AP did.

I moved to the next message.

**

[Message: Non-sentient Essence lifeform detected in Host's possession. Host is advice to put it in the {Fool's Sanctuary} for upgrades.]

[Notice: Host can pay Mischief Points to the Interface to have lowest grade Non-sentient Flame Lifeform improved to a Supreme grade lifeform which is a perfect match for Host's conditions.]

[Notice: Upgrade cost is 10,000 MP.]

[Time Required: 1 month.]

[Accept/Decline]

**

I accepted without a moment's hesitation

On second thoughts, I felt glad AP had been changed to MP now.

There were so many goodies to be earned with MP that it seemed that I can never have enough of them.

The Flame seed in my possession flashed away from my pocket. Instinctively, I knew the seed had been transported to the Grand Tree at the heart of the Sealed Space. I could also feel a change in the flow of Astra energy in the space.

More energy gathered at the leaves of the tree.

Although it pained me to see my limited supply of MP reduce but I was also excited to see the end result. I've never regretted the MP I've spent.

With that matter settled, I turned my attention to the reason why I entered the {Fool's Sanctuary}.

Shopping from the {Vault of Knowledge}.

-

A restriction placed on the {Vault of Knowledge} was that I couldn't purchase anything from the vault if I wasn't seated on the chair in the study of the {Fool's Sanctuary}.

I could view the vault through the Interface, I could even buy from it, but I wouldn't receive my purchase unless I was seating in the study.

This restriction was a little inconvenient. It meant I couldn't buy things at a moment's notice and had to plan ahead.

Not that this was much of a trouble for me.

-

The Interface gave me recommendations on [Knowledge] to purchase from the Vault's extensive listings. I confirmed that the recommendations were indeed the best amongst the listings that matched my needs.

At my current tier, I only had access to basic, maybe entry level knowledge as far as the Interface was concerned, however, the Knowledge I bought today set the foundation of my legend in the future, both as Leo Xander and the Fool.

[Knowledge]

*

-The Tyrant's Close Quarter Combat Technique-

Category: Combat/Physical

Introduction: This is the fighting and tempering technique created by the one who stands supreme above all in the Universe, the Tyrant Overlord, Shepherd. The technique has been improved so many times that it is a Supreme Law of the Universe in itself.

Remark: This is a fragment of the technique bestowed onto Lord Loki after he amused the Tyrant. At Master-tier, Host may comprehend 1% of the Supreme Law technique.

Tier: Basic Tier

Requirement: A constantly evolving physique, High Pain Tolerance and High Combat Sense.

(Host's physique meets requirement.)

Price: 100 MP.

(A.N: If you've read my main novel, you should have an idea who the Tyrant Overlord is.)

*

This CQC technique came highly recommended to me by the Interface. It pretty much forced me to buy the technique. According to the information it gave me at the time, once I had this technique, I wouldn't require any other combat technique as every fighting style conceivable was incorporated into it.

I bought the technique.

Torrents of information flooded my brain.

Suddenly, I felt like something examined my body. I froze there unable to move a muscle as a presence I couldn't describe scanned through my body.

I felt a heavy presence from this... entity.

The pressure was even heavier than what I felt from Loki. It became hands down the strongest presence I have ever felt.

Soon, I received the 'approval' of the presence that scanned my body. The knowledge on the Tyrant's CQC technique in my mind reformed itself to become a technique tailored to me.

It was then I realised the entity which scanned me was the technique cum Supreme Law itself.

I moved on to the other items on my knowledge shopping list.

*

-Valhalla Will Manual-

Category: Combat/Energy

Introduction: The halls of Valhalla welcomes only the bravest and strongest of warriors in all of the Norse Corridor. It is a place seething with Battle lust and Combat Intents. The Will Manual was created to help newcomers strengthen their minds and protect them from the influence of their superiors before they walk these hallowed walls.

Remark: Host will awaken control of his Mental Energy after successfully cultivating the manual.

Tier: Basic

Requirement: A strong mind.

Price: 50 MP

*

This was another recommended knowledge.

I bought the technique and the information imprinted itself in my brain. However, I didn't expect the imprint of the Tyrant's CQC to stir because of this. The Imprint in my mind moved and engulfed the Will manual's imprint.

Soon, the information in the CQC's imprint changed. A Mental Tempering tactic was now included.

I remember thinking the CQC really lived up to its name.

It truly was a Tyrant.

I didn't pay much attention to this and moved on to the next technique on my list.

*

-Firearms-

Category: Combat.

Introduction: Firearms can't be used in the world of Arun because it's laws don't support the combustion which firearms are based on. A loophole in the laws is required to use these magnificent weapons.

Remark: Host is able to use {Vault of Knowledge}-sold weapon in the world of Arun.

Tier: Basic (Only basic firearms i.e. Pistols can be used.)

Requirement: Firearms as professional weapon of choice.

Price: 15 MP.

*

This time, it wasn't knowledge that was imprinted in my mind, but rather a strange rune I couldn't understand. However, it had the same breath as the laws of the world of Arun from my second awakening.

Once again, the Tyrant stirred and engulfed the runes as well.

*

-Gunfighting-

Category: Combat

Introduction: The use of gun impedes delicate movement required to pull off combat techniques. Gunfighting is a combat method that removes this demerit.

Remark: Host can combine the use of guns with any fighting style.

Tier: Basic (Only basic firearm i.e. pistol can be used.)

Requirement: The use of a gun.

Price: 40 MP

*

This time, the Tyrant CQC engulfed the technique's imprint before it could even form.

I found myself wondering if there was a need to purchase these combat knowledge if they were only going to be swallowed up by the Tyrant CQC imprint.

It wasn't like it was a loss though. The technique rewrote itself to make it easier for me to use the techniques I bought.

I guess I should say as expected of a technique that became a Law.

-

Initially when I compared the prices of knowledge on the combat tree with those of other knowledge trees, I noticed they were far cheaper and was elated.

The Interface unfortunately burst my bubble and explained to me that combat knowledge was divided into tiers corresponding to my profession tier.

Tier 2 Assassin = Basic Tier

Tier 3 Assassin = Intermediate Tier

Tier 4 Assassin = Advanced Tier

Tier 5 Assassin = Master Tier.

I would have to buy a higher version of the knowledge every time I progress with the cost increasing by a factor of ten each time.

At that rate, combat knowledge would eventually become the most expensive knowledge in the vault.

Anyhow, that mattered little to me at this time as I turned my attention to other skill trees.

These knowledge were more expensive than the Combat knowledge I bought but they were one-off prices.

*

-Survival Knowledge-

Category: Life

Price: 1000 MP

*

-Enchanting/ Mana Circles/ Runes-

Category: Life

Price: 5000 MP

*

-Botany-

Category: Professional/Life

Price: 1000 MP

*

-Herbology/ Apothecary-

Category: Professional/Life

Price: 1500 MP

*

-Biology-

Category: Profession/Life

Price: 800 MP

*

-Psychology-

Category: Professional/Life

Price: 900 MP

*

-Tactical Command-

Category: Life

Price: 500 MP

*

These completed the list of knowledge the Interface recommended to me.

After that I went on a shopping spree. I don't actually remember all the knowledge I bought.

The few I remember are

[Life]: Riding/Driving/Flying, Interrogation/Counter-Interrogation, Extreme Parkour, Theft.

[Energy]: Sharp Senses, Penetration, Mental Communication, Telekinesis, Hypnosis, Concealment

[Physical]: Quick Reflex, Stealth & Assassination, Combat Proficiency, Precision, Accuracy.

-

Mischief Points: 44, 900 MP ➡️ 24, 900 MP

-

My Mischief Points dropped to just above 20k before I realised it and sobered up.

But even then, I knew I had gotten a list of skills that would serve me for a long time. Now, the only issue was learning them all in a short amount of time.

At this moment, I felt it was a little bit of a shame that the Interface didn't give me the acquired skills directly. It was certainly going to be a pain having to practise and master all the skill knowledge I bought.

-

Anyway, I excitedly turned to the most important agenda I saved for last.

I opened the weapons window. My eyes glittered as I gazed on the images of the beautiful weapons under the primary tab.

Under this tab, the Vault sold weapons from my decided primary weapons, Guns!

Due to being only a Tier 2 assassin, I only had access to basic guns i.e. Pistols-type guns.

A wide array of pistols from Semi-Auto to Full Auto pistols to even Revolvers presented themselves to me.

It didn't take me long to make my choice. I added two pistols to my shopping list.

*

-Colt Python-

Category: Revolver

Calibre: .357mm

Price: 120 MP

*

-S&W Combat Master-

Category: Semi/Full Auto Pistol

Calibre: 9mm

Price: 150 MP

*

The Python was a no-brainer. It was my weapon of choice from my previous life so I didn't have to think about it.

It took me a while to decide on the Combat Master though.

The Python was a powerful weapon, no doubt about it. However, it had a glaring weakness. It was loud.

I bought the Combat Master because it could be suppressed thus making it suitable for stealth kills unlike the Python.

By the way, the Combat Master was a wonderful hybrid of my two favourite guns from the modern pistol category, the Colt M1911 and the Berretta M9.

**

[Notice: Host is required to pay 12 Low grade Astra stones to manifest Colt Python Revolver]
