章 5: CHAPTER 05
After leaving the shop both of them walked towards the market area, as Ling wanted to shop for some house necessities, Ling kept on talking but Xian didn't utter a word.
"Xian? Xian? XIAN!!"
"What?"
"Why aren't you talking with me?"
"Why should I? You already have so many people for you why would you care if I talk or not"
"What?"
"If your shopping is done, let's go back, I am tired." Xian said as he took the bags from his hand and walked towards the way they came from.
"...Is he still going through puberty? What's with the sudden outburst? I didn't say anything to hurt his feelings did I?" Ling mumbled as he ran his hands over his hair.
"You coming?"
"Yes yes!!" With that he ran after Xian, all the way home none uttered a word.

After reaching home, Ling and Xian kept things they bought in the right places. Over the past week Xian has started helping Ling in household work and…though it sounds rude but Xian is really bad at it…especially in cooking, Ling had to beg him to never ever cook again…at least not here.
"Wow~ going out after so long, so refreshing~" Ling said as he jumped on the sofa.
"So tiring…" Xian said as he sat beside him.
"Anyway, are you in the mood to talk now?"
"...."
"Not talking again?" Ling asked as he looked at Xian who didn't spare him a glance.

After a moment of silence, Ling finally asked,
"Xian did I do anything wrong?" His voice sounded down and sad.
Xian didn't say anything and was about to get up but his whole body froze when he heard the sobbing sound.
"Ling! You are crying?" He said unbelievably, those brown eyes were red and teary, his nose turning red and his eyes were quivering. Anyone's heart will melt at such a scene.
"I…I don't..wa–want to c–cry but–you–"
"Ling, please don't cry" Xian said as he held his hands and looked at him with a pleading look in his eyes.

"Then…will you…talk with me?"
"...Do I have anyone else beside you…" Xian said as he wiped his tears with his sleeves.
"...Then If…if you had someone else…you won't talk with me.." Ling said as another fat tear rolled down his eyes.
"Ling! I can do that to anyone but not you…please don't cry anymore."
"Then…tell me why were you being cold to me?" Ling asked as he looked at him holding onto his tears.

Xian stayed quite and then with a sigh asked,
"First tell me…who is pearl?"
"Pearl…you mean uncle Lee's peal?"
Xian nodded his head,
"Thats just his pet dog. I used to play with it very often…and I miss her a lot." He said and Xian cupped his face.
"No more tears!"
"Okay…you are not angry anymore right?" Ling asked as he held onto his sleeves.
Xian sighed and ruffled his hair,
"I am not…go and freshen up, I will take some rest too."
"...Okay…" With that both of them headed towards their room, closed the door and flopped on the floor.

"What did I just do!!??" Both of them thought as they covered their blushing faces with their hands.
"Why did I cry like that?"
"Why did I react like that?"
"I am not going crazy am I?" They thought while holding their head and closing their eyes.
"It was just a dog…"
"He isn't angry anymore…"
"That's a relief~" they both said while a smile crept on their lips.
It was just the beginning of spring, and something new was emerging in the heart of two Youngblood. Whereas on the other side someone was getting restless with the passing time.

"It has been a whole week! And yet we couldn't find him!"
"We are trying our best–"
"Yet you can't get a hold of him?"
"That's because we don't have any clue about where he is…and in the worst case scenario he might be dead."
"NO! He isn't so weak to die just like that, I know he is alive and you need to find him."
"...I understand, please rest well, I will get to work."
"Boy…I will find you before you find them!"

"No…No…come back…no…"
"Xian? Xian…it's okay, I am here it's okay.." With that Ling hums a melody and Xian slowly gets at ease.
"...Just what have you gone through, a week has passed but there wasn't a single night when you didn't have nightmares…uttering the same words again and again…Mr stranger, just who do you want to come back?" Ling thought as he ran his finger over Xian's hair.
Ling stayed there for sometime until he was sure that Xian was comfortable, then he went to his own room,
"It's 1 am right now…should I call pa once?...No, he must be sleeping, I will just call him in the morning"
*Ring* *Ring*
"PA! I was just thinking about calling you!...Everything is good, I was just missing you…what? You will be coming home next month? Okay! I will try to get a leave from the hostel…but I can't promise anything. No need to bring anything for me pa, just come back safely, that's all I need. Hehe..okay okay I will go to bed now, you too take some rest, don't overwork your old bones…hehe~ okay Bye~" Ling threw himself in his bed and giggled.
"Pa will come back home~ Now I can finally sleep peacefully~"

Next Morning,
"No not there, don't hahaha!!"
"Why is Ling shouting so early in the morning?" Xian who just opened his eyes thought as he stretched his body and walked outside but as soon as he opened the main door, someone jumped into him making him fall to the ground.
"Ouch!"
"Oh No!! Xian!"
Xian held his butt and looked in front of him and met with a pair of two round brown eyes, a cute black nose and a reddish tongue that kicked his face clean.

"Pearl, how many times have I told you not to jump into people like that…Xian, are you okay?" Ling asked as he held the small dog in one hand and pulled Xian with the other.
"So, this is your Pearl?"
"Yeah, she is cute, isn't she?" Ling asked as he pulled her near to his face and smiled.
"Yeah cute but why is this here?"
"Well, Uncle is going out with aunty and the have no one to look after her so…you are not afraid of dogs are you?"
Xian looked at the dog which kept looking at him as if she was enchanted.
"I don't think so, I feel pretty okay."
Hearing that Ling let out a sigh of relief,
"...Then you won't mind helping me a bit…will you? In taking care of pearl…and them..?"
"Huh? Them? You got other dogs too?"
"Well…"
Xian didn't wait for his response and went towards the backyard, followed by a panicked Ling,
"What the!" That was Xian's first reaction when he saw the scenery out,
"...You…didn't bring a whole zoo here did you?"
"No they are just neighborhoods pets–"
"Pearl is understandable…cat, rabbit is understandable but Cow, Goat, Buffalo, Duck, sheep? What is this? A farm? And why did they leave everyone today only?"

"Xian, it's too early to be this angry and there is a festival in town for married couples that's why they left them with me, if you don't want to help then fine but please don't get angry." Ling said as he held onto his sleeves.
"Are you the only unmarried boy living here?"
"No but..." Ling mumbled and Xian sighed.
"Just tell me what should I do?" Hearing that Ling eyes got brightened and he gave out a big smile.
"Let's give Caicai a bath first!"
"Who is Caicai?" As soon as Xian said that the Buffalo gave out a moo sound and moved his head.
Xian looked at the black Buffalo that was twice his size, his long black hard horns, and large black eyes with a watery nose that kept on moving, his heart shook not in love but in fear.
"That is Caicai, Grandma Su's little baby~ she is cute right?" Ling said as he walked towards the Buffalo and touched its head.
Xian didn't move whereas Ling started to rise Caicai with water.

"Xian don't just stand there, come here and bring that basket too." Ling said as he pointed towards the small basket beside him.
"Okay.." Xian, still unsure, said and walked towards them, he placed the basket near Ling who was talking with Caicai as if they were childhood friends.
Looking at them, Xian couldn't help but smile a little and join him. At first it felt very weird and nasty but soon he got used to it.
"Looks like Caicai now likes you."
"And why do you say so?"
"Just feel it and you will know it too." Ling said as he tiptoed and removed the bubble from Xian's forhead.
