"Ava is real" William mumbled, she is real to him and that was all that mattered. For 2 years now he has been able to remember her, without her mentioning that name he would still know he has a friend called Ava, he thinks of her each and every single girl, not a day goes by without having her cloud his mind.
She taught him so many things over the years, she taught him how to have compassion, how to feel, and how to understand sentiments, even though it was a difficult journey she still showed him a light he never thought he could have.

Dy_zamite In case any of you are confused here is a short explanation... For the past 15 years Ava was never existing in William's world, she has been visiting him in the form of her spirit without realizing it and she only just found out now. While William has known for 2 years and didn't have the heart to tell her.
So basically Ava was never real, but William refuses to believe that... he doesn't want to believe that she was never real because he feels her and hears her. And Basker explained it might have been that way because of the connection they created with each other over the past 15 years of their friendship.
Ps: William is the only one who can see and hear her which makes it more tragic.
