章 28: [BONUS CHAPTER] You are fired

Arissa bent down as she scooped Blu. into her arms. She has spent a lot of time cleaning and feeding Blu. and she is sorry she wasted more of the nice lady's time.

She stood straight with Blu. under her arm as she faced her doot to lock it before going downstairs. And suddenly, she heard the closing of the door behind her, and due to her normal personality disorder of only minding her own business, she ignored the sound and only focused on locking her door.

"Who are you?" a husky voice asked behind Arissa and with the sound, she whirled around with familiarity to the voice.

Arissa gasped seeing who is before her. She faced the man before her with scrutinized eyes and lots of confusion in her head, "What are you doing here?" she shot her question at him as she drooped Blu. on the floor still looking at him ignoring his question.

Nicklaus's thin lips tightened with recognition and his brows frowned at her question - how dare she ask me such a question in my house?

And with each passing second, the wild night they shared replayed in his memory. He looked at her copper brown hair, the first thing he noticed about her that night and now, it was held in a low ponytail as it showed all parts of her face.

And strangely, he still memorizes her face unlike his usual one-night stands - but on a serious note, how would he forget her? - Extremely sharp and edgy with her tongue but incredibly shy on the bed.

He let out a soft chuckle concerning his thoughts and this made the brows between Arissa's eyes tighten.

"Excuse me, but did I say something funny?" Arissa asked him seeing how amused he is looking at her.

Nicklaus ignored her as he stared daggers at her.

And now, when she looked into those dead emotionless eyes of his, her stomach tightened realizing that she is not dreaming and this was Nicklaus - her one-night stand. But what is he doing here?

Arissa looked at the keys in his hand and her expression immediately turned into puzzlement. 'Why is he with keys also?' Arissa asked herself as her eyes involuntarily scanned his well-built body that was more appetizing under the gray shirt he was putting on.

'He is my husband.' Arissa linked and immediately a darkened expression emerged on Arissa's face.

She looked around him again and the tattoos she did not see on that night were now visible as they now showed themselves around his right arm.

Dominant spreading off his body just like how one perfume scents out.

"Are you a maid here?" Nicklaus inquired scanning all over her body. Her outfit and aura don't look like one of a maid, but it's only the maids that do come out of this room after cleaning them so the only explanation as to why she is coming out of the room would be because she is a new maid and maybe, does not know the rules and that maybe would have been the reason she is still here till his arrival.

Arissa looked at him with a smug expression on her face. His face was still void of emotions with all forms of arrogant vibes around him but if it was possible, Arissa would have said that he gets more and more handsome with each second.

"Was today your first day?"

"What?" Arissa asked as she cut off her views.

"Tsk" he clicked his tongue in displeasure to self-repetition, "I asked, was today your first day working here as a maid?" he asked as he folded both of his arms around his chest and leaned on the wall behind him.

"I am,"

"Or perhaps, you came for money?" he asked interrupting her statement, "Tell me how much you want," he ordered her confidently looking into her eyes and Arissa frowned hearing how he directly insulted her with his utterances. As per their first meeting, he is still vulgar and arrogant.

"And why do you have a pet?" he asked looking down at the cat beside her leg.

Arissa said nothing to him and just turned around to walk away to the elevator. He is seriously more annoying with each passing second just as his handsomeness increases.

"One more step away from me and you are fired," Nicklaus promised with an icy voice, and at once, Arissa stopped walking - she would need me to interview the maid candidate before employing them, Nicklaus thought referring to his mother's maid choice.

Arissa did not stop walking because she was scared, but because he just amused her with his promise - did he just promise to fire his wife?

"Look, Nicklaus"

"You don't call me by my name in here," he cut her off with annoyance, "and for that night," he stopped looking around her body, "was just a night of pleasure and that was because you asked for it so now, tell me how much you want for that night," And once again, Nicklaus cut her off her speech with his arrogant and uncaring words.

Arissa turned to him with a calm expression. Previously, she was mad when she saw he was her husband because of how stupid she felt for the fact that she gave her husband her virginity trying not to give it to him - how more twisted can this get?

"Anyone told you about your contract marriage?" she asked him with a cold voice now. She was sure of going crazy if this marriage is not done with them living apart.

Nicklaus drooped his hand down from his chest as he look back at her face with a stern look, "Why? Pocking your snout into my affairs already?"

Nicklaus does not care about the marriage but being reminded by her was not a funny joke. If a maid knows this also, how many more unwanted people do?

"That's the last thing I would do Nicklaus," Arissa said tasting his patient again as she called him by his name and took closer steps to him.

"And if you are devoid of knowledge concerning your relationship life, I would like to help you with the favor of letting you know that I'm your wife," Arissa enlightened him with the information as they stared into each other eyes.

Nicklaus stilled before letting out a very dark chuckle.

"You must be joking," Nicklaus said with humor as he gaped at her.

'What does my mother think she is doing getting him contracted with a one-night stand.'

And before Arissa would say anything to his statement, the elevator ding stop and his mother walked out of it - her usual indoor smile on her lips.
