After wishing each other good night, all four of them parted ways. Liliana brought Cassia to the bedroom while Talia escorted Old Master Ding back to the main building. The heavy air around them mirrored their feelings.
"I'll discuss the rest with our attorney. I'll inform all of you if there's anything important."
Those were Old Master Ding's last words before he and Talia left. Liliana and Cassia replied with nothing aside from a single nod, indicating they understood.
Pushing Cassia's wheelchair through the door, Liliana only stopped once they reached the bed. She worriedly looked at her mother's gloomy countenance.
"Lili... don't show... such... a face..."
Cassia tilted her chin up, letting her eyes collide with Liliana's. She fully discerned the concern brimming in her daughter's heart, reflected by her eyes.
"Will you be okay sleeping alone tonight, Mom?" asked Liliana, her voice quivering, "Want me to accompany you?"
What made me put this book on hiatus was mostly regarding the conflict resolution related to the Guan family :/ Even after resuming the updates, I still have doubts about it but, I don't want to needlessly prolong the issues.
Hopefully, this resolution is acceptable even though it's not perfect :)
