Cassia got her wish fulfilled soon, much to her delight. It happened when she and her daughter were having lunch.
Mrs. Fu cooked several dishes for Cassia and Liliana. The mother and daughter had lunch by the window, letting the sunbeam fall on them.
Liliana watched Cassia eat while having her own meal. She moved from the opposite side of the table to the seat next to her mother's.
Cassia was able to eat by herself now but, only if she used a spoon or fork. Handling chopsticks and knives was still dangerous for her.
Still, Liliana made sure to stay close to Cassia, just in case her mother needed her help. Joy flooded her heart as she watched how happy her mother was right now.
When Cassia finished the last grain of her rice, someone came approaching the table. It was Lucas. He brought along a tray of sweets.
"Good afternoon, ma'am, Lili."
Lucas' polite greeting lured Liliana and Cassia's attention to him.
