Lucas heaved out a sigh. He slowly stopped walking in the hallway, prompting Linda who was behind him to do the same. The mother and son locked their eyes on one another.

"Mother, I'll handle this. Don't worry," said Lucas, his whole face expressing exhaustion.

Yesterday late afternoon, Daphne suddenly appeared at their doorstep. To avoid causing a commotion with the neighbors, Lucas had no choice but to invite her in.

Linda was also there. Because of that, Lucas could no longer hide this matter.

In the living room, Daphne tearfully begged Lucas to withdraw the charges, saying she would be stripped of her position as a teacher if the lawful punishment went through.
