Damien's first kick

Again, Dante could feel his face squashed by the amount of animosity from his wife's personal maid. She hated him and he knew that, but her disrespect was getting quite annoying to him.

''Just because I have not punished you yet, does not mean I can still tolerate your disrespect.'' Dante said, coldly. ''I am the duchess' husband and you're just a lowly maid. Don't cross the line.''

'Ha!' Amelia sneered as her shoulders trembled in a fury. The fact that the duke still had the nerve to call himself her lady's husband made the muscles in her temple tick in fury.

''Amelia,'' A soft voice broke through the tension in the room. Amelia swallowed the words about to slip out from her mouth and turned to her lady.

The latter was still reading the letter, and she said one word. ''Go.''

Since her lady's behavioral change, Amelia noticed that her lady was a woman of short words. She did not like to speak much unless it concerned her.
