The moment my consciousness went deep inside me, all the way to my soul, I was left stupefied. What I saw defied the very definition of science I knew. The first transmigration had already defiled that law for me, but this sight was way too much for me.
My consciousness was standing in a dark green energy sphere structure, rotating in my mind/soul. Being a Science professor, I could tell straight away what this structure before me was, but I couldn't tell what it meant. Trying to probe it more, I got another splitting headache followed by information of what this is. I had awakened a Martial spirit, more like I had inherited a Martial spirit. How? I didn't know. My only thought now was that this might be my golden finger.
Joy overflowed in my heart. I had come across websites where people spat garbage about crazy novels. Even during my school days, though I never got interested or ever checked it out, those words kept playing out on many of the transmigration novels I heard people talking about.
Shaking my head helplessly, I sighed to myself. "If I had known a day like this would come, I would have spent some free time reading novels instead of chasing women. Well, I didn't regret my choice though. Women are still the best novels to read."
Probing further to see what this Martial spirit could do, I was lost for words. Nothing, absolutely nothing came back as the response. I didn't know how to operate this Martial spirit or how to use it. Secondly, I didn't even feel any eternal energy in me, so how could I test it out?
Now it was my turn to curse the original owner of this body for not even checking on cultivation techniques even once. One minute I had hope, the next it was dashed against a rock. Were the heavens playing games on me or something? Once again, I calmed down. Cursing won't solve my problem. From the knowledge in this guy's head, there was still a way to cultivate eternal energy without techniques. It's extremely slow and dangerous, as one might damage his meridian in the process.
Still, I decided to give it a try. Sitting down cross-legged, still feeling the pains all over my body, a pain I ignored to focus, I spread my senses deep into my body. I tried feeling the energy surrounding me. Good enough, I could feel this strange energy, but no matter how hard I tried to draw it into my body, it never worked.
"What is going on? If this body is the trashiest of the trashiest, it could still draw in the energy. Why would the energy sway toward my body but refuse to enter, only dancing at the surface of my skin?" I cursed out in frustration. I didn't want to give up, but at last, I gave up after many hours of trying.
The oxygen in the cave was dropping really fast too. I could have reduced the amount of my oxygen intake if I were a cultivator, but nah, I'm not that lucky. Now I was cursing my unlucky fate to be reincarnated only to die a few hours after.
Helpless over the situation, I decided to use the time left before my glorious exit would draw near to explore what was left of the cave. Those bastards had cleaned everything dry. They even took the food supplies and weapons of my dead warriors. I glared at my rumbling stomach in annoyance. "Are you fu*king blind? Can't you see we are locked up down here and awaiting death calmly to arrive?" I grumbled at my rumbling stomach, sighing once more to myself for yelling at my own self cause it had no ear. I shifted my gaze from my stomach to one end of the wall. There I saw a portion of the wall that looked rough and crooked, like a place closed off with broken pieces of rocks. It had escaped the eye of the original owner of this body and the others before now.
I walked over without delay. Arriving there, I ran my hands through the wall and could tell my assumptions were right. The next problem was, I had nothing to crack open this part of the wall. Searching around for some time still with no result, I felt helpless. This might hold the key to getting out of here, maybe it held a secret passage or something.
Many caves like this would surely have a second entry and exit point. Seeing hope in front of me but fate playing a crude game, I decided to be cruel too. I walked up to one of the dead warriors' side with a determined face, one void of emotions. Placing my right foot on his right shoulder, I pulled on it with all my strength using both arms. Though the warriors were only at the elementary stage of cultivation, their bodies were still a bit sturdier than mine. If not, they are dead and their eternal qi gone, it would have been a hard job. After many relentless struggles with the arms, a tearing sound resounded with the arms being ripped off from the shoulder socket. The pointing bones should serve as a knife for me now, I thought to myself as I walked back to the wall with bloodstains on my body.
With the pointing part of the bone, I start stabbing the wall, cracking it open piece by bit. By the time it was completely open, I had used not just one arm but legs and the other arms of the eight guards I had, and those that were unfortunate to die from the guards of my enemy all together. Bones fragments and flesh pieces splattered everywhere around me.
The scene is gruesome, but I didn't care. The blood all over my face and a few fleshy particles hanging here and there on my face and head would have made me sick in my former life, but here in my new life, it's all I got.
Letting out a relieved breath, I shoved my hands into the football-sized hole now open, hoping to touch a lever or something that could get me out of here. When I pulled my hands out after a while, I had got hold of something within.
A short small Chinese folded scroll case came in sight. I quickly opened it, hoping for something, anything. I shook the scroll case a few times, checking if there was still anything left aside from the small folded paper in my hands.
"No crystal or formation key, just paper. What the hell," my hope was once again dashed against the bottomless pit. I really should stop hoping at this stage, else I'll die of a heart attack before my oxygen runs out. Moving to the side dejected, I sat down with my back against the wall. "There is no hope left now," I thought to myself, opening the little paper in my hands. It was written in a foreign language. It shows that the expert who had used this place as his burial ground wasn't from the wasteland.
Good for me, I can understand the language, all thanks to the previous owner of this body. Scanning through the paper, I noticed it's a martial skill technique. The creator created this technique as his signature skill. Reading it to the end, I got a clear understanding of how he had died. The name of the martial skill is known as Blood Charge, as the name implies, it can use one's blood to empower the body or a single part of the body. The more blood you burn, the more the effect would be seen. My guess is this expert had used this skill so much that the blood loss had affected his cultivation, and in the end, he is dead, leaving this and the other items as inheritance.
Studying the technique more, it was obvious that the drawback would be much the longer you used it. Once used to a point where your blood is almost exhausted, you would feel very weak and exhausted. At that point, you are insecure because anyone can kill you.
Giving it a good thought, I was left with no choice. I don't have eternal qi in me, this skill can utilize my blood to grant me strength to get out of here. After that, I can figure out a way to get back home, but for now, this is all I got. I pray I don't run out of blood before I can break out of this cave. With that thought, I set my mind to learn and cultivate the skill. Right then, my mind went through a jolt. I left cultivating the skill first and dove into my mind.
There I could see one green bubble light orb with a grid pattern inside it rotating within the green energy sphere structure. I pushed my consciousness close to see what it was, as it is the only orb there and had appeared right when I wanted to learn the skill.
To my greatest shock, it was the knowledge of the skill Blood Charge. It felt like I had cultivated this skill to the peak and can use it at will. I doubted myself and had to check a second and even a third time, but the result was still the same. Wanting to test it out, I willed to use the skill. The vortating light orb within the structure glowed mildly like it had been activated. My blood began to boil, and I could feel the rise of energy within me.
The more blood I burned at will, the more the energy rose. I quickly shifted the energy to my right arm, and I could feel the power condensed there. I felt like I could level a tank back on Earth with a single punch. Wasting no time since I knew it would be detrimental to use this skill for long, I dashed towards the cave door covered with fallen rocks.
Arriving there in a jiff, I threw my right hand balled into a fistout, giving the crumble stones blocking the entrance a punch with all my might
*boom*
Strong force like a dynamite exploded out of the collision, throwing me back into the cave while the crumble stones blocking the entrance flew away opening up a path to go through.
Getting back up with much struggle, I wiped the blood of the side of my lips, bruises spread over my body from the impacts of the flying rocks, I long have cancelled the skill and have lost a lot of blood, due to the skill and that which I have coughed out from the sudden blast that sent me hitting my back against the other side of the cave
Starring into the distance through the opened entrance my gaze was cold, hatred and anger fill my mind, only revenge hangs around my thought, Imos Newman is back and I'm coming to collect my pound of flesh.
