章 101: Chapter 101: Back to Base
Days at Galvile went by slowly with Simon reestablishing an understanding relationship with his staff. Bridget who loves cooking assumed the role of a cook when she arrived on Wednesday evening. Faith's sister was found and arrangements for a transplant kicked off courtesy of Simon and faith was released from the cell and allowed to walk freely after making her bury the bodies of Timothy and Barnabas and making a video of it as an evidence to be used against her if she ever decided to speak to someone about it. Her prints were also placed on their skin and shoes.
A new chef who was interviewed and closely monitored by Bridget was employed. The work of employing a new butler was handed over to Charles who decided to take his time. Charles was expected to spend two whole weeks at Galvile putting things in order and carrying out his subtle investigation on the people Timothy was working with. After which he can hand over the management of Galvile to Tamil, one of Simon's guards who knew more than enough about the management of a ranch as he lived and grew up in a country home.
The few days Simon spent at Galvile did not only help him in self actualization of his dream to finally control his sexual urge but it reminded him that he needed to pay more attention to his properties so as not make room for rebels amongst his workers. He wondered what it would have been like if Timothy wasn't so greedy, if he had reached out to more people working for him at the ranch to work and carry out their plans together. It would have been an issue of rebellions and would definitely be such a hard task for one to overcome.
Friday came and June's wedding was just two days away. Simon who have been speaking with Paige almost everyday was seen preparing to leave for Creek Island. Sitted on the arm chair in his mini sitting room, he bent over to tie his shoe lace and a soft knock came on the door. "Come in," he called. Bridget walked into the room all dressed and smelling so nice. She wore a royal blue flared knee length gown with pearl accessories and a red lipstick making her gorgeous face way prominent. She took a seat placed on the wall.
"Good morning Aunt B." Simon greeted as she walked in.
Bridget smiled cheerfully. "You look dashing my boy. Are we going to a special occasion at the mansion?" She asked Simon who was dressed in plain black trouser, a black tucked in long sleeved shirt unbuttoned at the chest, a pair of black designers on her feet and a couple others on his wrist. His outfit exuding charm, class and style. He looked at his aunt and smiled softly.
"Thank you Aunt B. Though you are the most beautifully dressed one right here. Those pearls are so beautiful. I would love to get one of those for the women in my life who don't have it already." He said gently excluding Bridget.
"Such a subtle way to let me know that you don't intend adding me to the list. No worries though, that's fine. Let me know when you are ready to get them. I have another design I'd like for myself." She added as Simon sat up after tying the last of his shoe. "So the women in your life, how many are we now?" Bridget asked.
Simon looked at her smiling. He knew exactly where she was heading to. "Aunt B stop." He said.
"I did nothing. She reminded him. I only asked a harmless question. The girl, the one we spoke about on phone, are you guys back together. I mean I can see the glow. It's so obvious. Are you guys back together?" She asked again.
Simon looked at her with a smirk. "We are just taking things a step at a time now Aunt B. It's nothing too serious." He replied.
"But she's back with you?" Bridget asked.
"That is what I'm saying, we're taking our time to explore. Hopefully things will fall into place soon." He replied.
"Hmm," Bridget sighed. "I seriously can't wait to see her."
"You won't have to wait for too long." He reassured her. We'll be at Creek island in no time." Simon replied excitedly
"I'm happy." She suddenly said.
"Why?" Simon asked trying to know.
"I'm happy that you are happy. I've always prayed for this." She told him. "Whoever she is, I pray she never lack a thing in her whole life for making you this happy, i owe her all of my gratitude." She further added in a tearful voice with tears threatening to fall off her eye. Simon sighed deeply, stepped up to her and wrapped her up in a hug.
"You don't have to cry Aunt B. It's enough to know that we have each other, we are here for each other and I also have someone I feel lots of things for. Now, promise me you won't make trouble at the mansion." He requested.
Bridget smiled knowingly. She have been expecting him to say this. "I'm not a trouble market son or am I now?" She asked
"Aunt B, you know what I'm talking about. Promise me please." He pleaded.
"Fine." Bridget replied. " I will be of my best behavior. Who will be home at the Mansion?" She inquired.
"My mother, Anna, Jack and Paige." He replied.
"Lawyer stays at the Mansion now? And who is Jack?"
"Yes, she's staying at the Mansion and that's because she want to spend more time with our mother. She'll be back to her former life once the wedding is over. Remember Bruce's son? He is Jack and he is Anna's godson." Simon replied giving an answer to all her questions while Bridget nodded indicating that she was following the conversation. A knock on the door had Bruce and Charles step in.
"We are all set Boss." He announced. "The jet is already at the field.
"Let's go Aunt B." Simon called standing and helping her stand to her feet as well.
"Are my bags packed?" She asked Bruce.
"Yes ma'am." He replied. Once they got outside, they saw the whole staff lined up. Bridget walked past them to the car packed outside while Simon stayed back and gave a heartwarming speech reassuring every single one of them that he'd never leave them to hurt alone, encouraging them to talk to him if they need anything. He ended his small speech by hugging and offering each of his staff a handshake. Once done, he turned to Charles and Tamil. "Charles, please do the best you can before leaving here. Tamile, please take care of my ranch like it's your own." He went ahead to hug both men before heading to his car outside. Once inside, they started their journey to Creek Island.
