"Thank you so much Sunflower. For this call. You just blessed my day. I love you." He said and hung up immediately before she could reply.
"What nerve!" Paige said with a smile. She was happy. It felt so good to have Simon back at her corner once more. She looked at the mirror with a knowing smile. "Don't say it, don't say it girllll....!" She screamed shaking her wsist excitedly. "Now that is how adults talk to each other on phone. Can you beat that?" She said to her reflection in the mirror. The beep of her phone startled her and brought her back to reality. She moved closer to the mirror stand to check the caller and it turned out to be Stefan. "Such a spoiler." She murmured pushing her phone's silence button. For the first time since she arrived Kentley hall, she finally unbolted the door that led to the corridor she shared with Simon. It was more like a big balcony with a large space.
The balcony was quite big and there was no demarcation to specify her space and Simon's. She stepped outside the door staring admiringly at the marble tiled sparkly floor. Simon had a mini table and seats placed towards his side of the balcony and the beautiful gmelina tree spread some of its branches up there giving it an extra space and beauty. It was extremely beautiful, like something she has never seen before. Her mouth dropped open as she admired it's beauty. She moved over to Simon's space taking a seat under the Gmelina shade. The fresh burst of air shook her body making her smile beautifully. "So, this is what Simon have been urging her to take part in all this while." She thought to herself.
**************************
Back at Galvile, Simon dropped his phone on his mini dining table where he was seated with his laptop and phone . He couldn't hold back his excitement as he was extremely happy. He just finished his therapy session with Chadwick when Paige's call came in his phone. At first he was scared and worried. He thought something bad has happened to her or there was an emergency at home. But hearing her sweet tiny voice and hearing the pang of jealousy in her voice for the first time ever made him smile. It's been a couple of days without her and it felt like weeks. He didn't know what happened between her and Frankie. He was so sure something happened and whatever it was, he prayed it remained permanent.
A knock came on the door diverting his attention. "Who is that?" He asked.
"It's me boss." Bruce replied.
Simon walked lazily to the door and opened up. He walked back to his seat as Bruce and Charles opened the door and stepped in.
"What is the update?" He asked both men.
"I rechecked her information Boss." She didn't fill any relative neither did she say anything about a daughter." Charles told Simon.
"And?" Simon asked turning to Charles.
"There is no sign of the cook at Galvile Boss. Pestering more might lead to exposure of our Discovery. So I decided that it was best to speak to you first before making any decision.
"That won't be necessary. This whole protocol of going back and forth is not really my forte. I will speak to them tomorrow. Every single one of my employees. And you'd better not act funny about it cause I do not want anybody to suspect a thing. Bruce, spread the news that I want to acquire ranch. Make sure you spread the news in a matured and relatable manner. Charles make sure that we won't be getting any surprises this night and ensure that nobody leaves the ranch tonight." Simon instructed them.
"Yes Boss." They replied in unison.
"That is all." He told them seeing that they were still standing. Why are you still standing? I have nothing more to say." He told them.
"There is something I figured you might need to know." Charles told him.
"Sit down." He told them pointing at a seat beside the wall. Charles and Bruce sat down comfortably. "I'm all ears" he said once they were both sitted.
"It's about Stefan Riley." Charles started. At the mention of Stefan's name, Simon's attention increased as he gave Charles a quizzical look. After the payment we made to his account, two days later, I had someone look into his account and I found out that he withdraw the whole money we deposited into his account." Charles paused looking at his boss.
"Okay, I'm lost here. Does it really matter? What he does with his money should be good business, shouldn't it? Maybe he felt safer moving good money to another account. Judging from how he got the money as well, it is worth being cautious." Simon replied. "So is there a catch in the story, If yes, what is it?"
Charles nodded and continued. "I traced the account he transferred the money into, it belonged to Aurora Philips!" Charles exclaimed hoping that Simon will get there connection.
"Who is that? I've heard the name before now. Who is she?" Simon agreed impatiently.
"She worked for Miss Paige before rher business hit the rock." Charles replied.
"The secretary!" Simon said as he recalled his sister mention the name twice or more when paige had the issue of money swindling with her ex boyfriend. He scoofed at the thought referring to Riley as Paige's ex. It felt so good. He thought. "You should trace her account records. I've been wondering how Riley spent such a huge sum of Money within few days. This should be an answer to that question." He said aloud.
"I already tracked all the transactions that happened in that account since the arrival of miss Paige to the mansion." I wan........ "
"And?" Simon asked interrupting him.
I think they shared that money between themselves Boss." Charles replied.
"Hmmm," Simon sighed in anger. "How low can Stefan Riley go. I feel like strangling him. He doesn't deserve life. Meanwhile, where is she now? The secretary. Can we find her if we wish to." He asked looking at Charles.
"Definitely Boss." Charles replied.
"The last time I checked, she was in Africa." Charles narrated.
"Africa? Of all the places in the world? Why Africa. Is she running or hiding from someone?" He asked.
"She went on a vacation boss. She went with Stefan Riley." Bruce added.
"Hmmm, it's great to know that my money could do such wonders." Simon said slowly. "How do one get surrounded with these type of people who are just after their life cause obviously these people that disguise as Paige's loved ones are purely enemies who are seriously after her life and money." Simon said thoughtfully. "I want them, I want to teach them a lesson. But that should be after their vacation. Allow them enjoy their vacation." Simon said.
"Sure Boss." Said Charles. "I will let you know once they get back from Africa." He told Simon.
Simon went silent for a while as he went into deeo thoughts. Teaching Stefan and Aurora a lesson was something he seriously wanted to do. But he thought about Paige. She obviously wouldn't want him to hurt them. She would want him to just let them be. "No wonder people take advantage of her" he thought to himself. "She is so naive and too gentle." He knew within him that he was having the soft effect already as a result of his association with her. She was already influencing him. "On a second thought." He said aloud to Bruce and Charles hearing. "Let them be. We're way past them. I have paid Riley off. I will only touch him if he over steps the set boundary. He should have fun." Simon said sadly.
"Are you sure about this Boss?" Bruce asked.
"Go do the things I asked you to do. Charles, the same applies to you. If I have a change of mind about my decisions, I will let you know." He added.
His guards nodded and stood up in unison. "See you Boss." They chorused.
"See you." Simon nodded.
They left Simon's room and went about to carry out their assigned duties. Simon rubbed his head in frustration. "What the hell happened to that cook" he mummered looking exhausted. Be wondered if she was paid to disappear so that faith could replace her seamlessly. Or was she kidnapped? What if she is in danger or she's been killed." Simon thought. "By who!" He exclaimed with frustration. "Timothy," he murmured with a weak smile. "I just pray this is not you, cause I'll shred you into tiny pieces then crush you into a dust." He murmured. All his employee know what they will face when they betray or even try to betray him. One of the reasons he care for them so much especially financially was because he didn't want any of them to lack in any form. He just prayed and hoped within him that there is a very good reason for the absence and disappearance of his former chef and the non inclusion of a daughter in her file.
