章 76: Chapter 76: Felix Tedson
"Where is Frankie?" Paige asked Felix as he led her into the mansion to ease herself.
"He should be around somewhere." Felix replied. "I'll take you to room so you can do your thing while I look for him. He might be in his room." Felix said showing her to the guest room that was already prepared for her. Once Paige entered and closed the door, he left for his brother's room upstairs but met it empty with no sign of Frankie. He looked around the building yet nothing. He also attempted calling him on phone but it kept going to voicemail. "Is Frank okay." Felix murmured climbing down the stairs.
"Where is my brother?" He asked one of the maids. But got no positive reply as the maid had no idea. Seeing that Paige wasn't done yet, he went outside in search of Franklin with fear that something bad must have happened to him. It was better he found out early enough. He moved round the whole garden, yet there was no sign of him. He headed towards the gate. Getting there, the security greeted him on sight. "Did you see my brother?" He asked them.
"No sir." Came their reply.
Getting frustrated, he went past the gate telling himself that if he did not see Franklin and he doesn't pick his call one more time, he was going to raise an alarm that he was missing. There was nothing else he could think of doing. He walked round the compound, yet nothing. He moved in-between the cars parked inside the compound stopping and checking the inside of some of the parked cars just to be sure his brother wasn't beaten and dumped inside one of them. Just to be on a safe side, he called the security at the first entrance to ensure that cars are searched thoroughly before they are allowed outside the house. Just when he was about to give up his search, he saw the familiar figure of his brother under a tree with some lady. He blinked severally at the sight before him as Frankie was choking the lady in question.
Fear gripped Felix and he hid beside one of the cars immediately. This was the first reflex that came to his mind. When he shifted from his position to look at them again, his brother have released the lady but was pointing at her and obviously saying something to her. Maybe he was shouting or scolding the lady, Felix couldn't tell from his hideout position but he sure knew whoever the lady was needed to be careful and if possible, she needed to run as far as possible from his brother.
Just then the lady started walking away and Felix hid properly by squatting beside the car with his heart beating heavily almost escaping his chest. As the lady appeared, she stood beside the car Felix was using to hide sobbing softly. Felix bent even lower having a clear view of her shiny gold glitters sandal. After a while of calming herself down, she left to join others in the ongoing celebration.
Slowly, Fe stood up with most of his body still glued to the car. He looked at the tree abd found it empty. He looked towards the second entrance and saw his brother entering the gate that led to the mansion. "What's happening?" He asked himself in a whisper. Bringing out his cellphone, he called the security at the main entrance to go back to their normal routine check and allow people to pass the way they normally do. After recollecting himself, he remembered Paige and sighed. "She must be looking for me." He said before heading back inside the house.
He went directly to Paige's room and knocked softly. She opened the door after few seconds. "Hey." Felix called.
"Hey." She replied.
"Are you done? Let's go back to the party." He said.
"Uhmm, Can I stay back inside please?" She asked him. "I'm a bit exhausted and would really love a warm shower, all that cold air outside the garden seem to have to have caught up with me." She explained with a pleading eyes.
"That's not a problem." Felix said. "Take your time. I'll explain to them outside." He said turning to leave.
"Did you see Frankie?" She asked.
"Yes, he is still busy upstairs." He's got a couple of business calls to make. He ask that I tell you that he'll be with you soon." He lied comfortably. "I'll see you around." He told her and zoomed off immediately to find his brother. He went back to the garden and they almost bumped each other. "Frankie, where have you been? Paige have been looking for you for a while now." He asked pretending not to have seen him earlier.
"I had an important business call that I needed to take." Frankie replied. "Where is she now?"
"In her room. She said she was tired and chilly and she wanted to have a warm bath and probably rest as well." Fe replied.
"Great!." Said Frankie. "I'll go see her." He said and walked past his brother to the house. Just then Fe spotted Fiona with one of the guests. Her shoe was the only thing that caught his attention. It was a shiny gold glitters sandal, same as the one the one he saw while hiding earlier.
