章 50: Chapter 50: Lakeview Incoming

"Oh my god!!!!!" She screamed immediately she saw Simon. She jumped on the bed and covered herself with the blanket. "What the fuck! I thought you were Samira. What the hell are you doing in my room? And with my breakfast?"

"I brought your breakfast." He replied.

"I can see that. Why didn't you tell me you were the one?"

"You never asked." He said. "You just told me to come in, remember."

"Because I thought you was Samira." She said with a frown. "Why are you with my breakfast anyway? Why not her?"

"I offered to help." He replied. "Can I come in?" He asked still standing beside the door.

"Simon please. You're already inside. What's left. Come in." She said holding the blanket tighter to her chest.

He smiled mischievously and dropped the tray of food on the bed table. "Breakfast and your raspberry juice." He said. "Can I sit?" He asked pointing at the chair beside him "Or would you like me to come back?"

"Just help me get that bathrobe." She pointed at the bathrobe she left on her dressing table. Simon brought it for her and pretended to look away while she wore the robe on top of her dress. After few seconds, she came out from under the blanket. "You can sit please." She told him.

Simon stifled a laughter that was threatening to come out. "You should consider featuring in movies." He told her.

"I'm a great actress if you must know." She said. "I've acted a couple of drama in theatres while I was in college. Danced and sang too. I had to learn how to dance from my then roommate Paula. She taught me. I joined the choir right from high school. So, my voice was beautiful. Not extraordinary, but it was okay. So, you see, acting isn't such a new thing to me."

"Wow, if you did all this at your leisure, what time do you have to read? I mean you did them for fun right?" Simon asked.

Paige smiled wide. She looked at him as she adjusted to seat comfortably on the bed. "I did them for money. Fun was one of the things I never had time for while in school. Although, I started singing at a much younger age because my father insisted that I do something for God. During college, I sang for money. I hardly went to church. I still can't remember the last time I did. Should be after my father's funeral or thereabout. After his death, I faced hell. My step mother made me see hell on earth. I almost dropped out of school because of funds. So, I had sit up to see myself through school, which was a struggle by the way. But, I scaled through." Paige told him.

"Oh my god! Why did you still go back to tolerating your step mother's excesses after school? You could have moved away from them after your School." He said with a worried face.

"I was scared. I was scared of loosing my home. All the sweet memories I shared with my late mother was in that house. Besides, I once called her threats bluff and she sold my father's textile factory. I was scared of loosing the house too. So, I didn't want to dare her." Paige said.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all these. No one deserve what they did to you. It's all shades of wrong. Sorry." He said genuinely.

"No, I've made peace with all of it. I'm not angry nor mad anymore. I just remember these things once in a while. It does hurt, but it's all good now. Thank you so much for being a great host and for tolerating my excesses." She told him.

"Is that all you see me as?" He asked. When he didn't get a reply, he stood up. "I'll just leave you to eat your food. I was wondering if you'd like to go out today. I want to make a quick stop at my house at Lakeview. It's a beach house. You said your favorite sport was swimming, maybe you'd love to come along for a picnic and a swim as well. I wouldn't want to leave you here all alone." He offered.

"I would love to!" Paige exclaimed before she could think twice. "I mean, I would love to." She said in a much calmer voice getting a hold of herself.

"Okay." He said smiling happily. "Thank you so much. I'll leave you to eat now. We'll leave by 1:00pm." He looked at her for a confirmation and she nooded in agreement. He excused himself and left. Paige ate her breakfast in silence once he left. She couldn't believe that he was so comfortable after everything that happened the previous day.

Going to Lakeview with him meant she might get to swim. So, she had to prepare anyway.
