章 5: Chapter 5: The Contract
"Did you go through the contract very well. I had it explained and written out in plain sentences for you by the Lawyer. The rewritten pages are attached to the original contract." Nathan told Paige on the phone.
"Yeah, he did a great job. I had heavy headache when I attempted reading the original contract. Thank God for the Lawyer. He's a blessed man." Paige replied back to the receiver at the other end of the line.
"I'm glad you like what he did. When are you sending the signed contract down?" Nathan asked.
"I'm actually done with it. I'll send it down this afternoon. It should be delivered to your office soon." Came the reply.
"Wow, paige that was too soon. Are you sure you went through the contract at all. I mean there was a clause that stated that you must work with them for a Month before getting your 1st pay. And you'll be paid every two weeks. Did you read that?"
"Of course, I did. Is there something else I may have missed?"
"No, if you're fine with the with everything stated in the contract, then I guess we're all good. Make sure you make a copy for yourself. You might need it."
"Alright. What about Hospital Permit? Were you able to convince them on my behalf? Paige asked.
"I'm on it already. I had to follow it up myself in order to hasten them up. The signed approval for the permit should be ready at most in two days. Nat replied.
"That's fast. Very fast if I must say. Thank you so much for doing this for me. Paige complimented.
The door to Paige's tiny office at 'Pai-Boxes' opened and Stefan walked in.
"Alright Nat, I'll talk later. I have to go now. Bye. She hung up and turned to Stefan.
"Hey." Stefan greeted. "Can I sit down?"
"Of course, come sit." Paige replied.
"Aurora said you asked that I see you. Is there a problem?"
Aurora is paige's secretary at "Pai-Boxes" a gift shop owned by Paige. Paige's Boyfriend Stefan have been working or rather helping her out with the shop since he lost his Job. Coupled with the fact that Paige was always busy at the Hospital. But he was placed on a Salary by Paige. Since then, he refused to go out there and look for another job. He was always ready to made do with any little he had. Stefan never wanted more nor was he the type to step up and look for more.
"I'm going to accept the Kentley's Proposal." She said glaring at him in order to catch his reaction.
Stefan flinched like he was pricked by a sharp object. He thought telling Paige's step mother was enough to dissuade her from going ahead with the offer. His main fear have always been loosing her to other eligible men out there. He knew of his financial limitations and honestly didn't give a care as long as Paige was always there to foot the bill.
