 "Reynard, do you know who this Alan is?"

"I do know who he is but it's a very long story."

 Reynard would never lie to Esme, he knew that he had to tell the truth and now wasn't the time for that.

"I have all the time, Reynard tell me about him." Esme insisted, leaving Reynard no choice but to explain to her who Alan was and his role in making him whatever he is today. He told her how Alan betrayed him and what he did to pay him back for his betrayal.

"So that is why he seemed to hate me so much." Esme now understood why there was so much hatred for her in that Alan's heart. It's because he sees her as the culprit behind Reynard's massacre on his pack.

"Don't think about that. If he appears before you again, then I won't hesitate to make history repeat itself."

"I will defend myself now Reynard. You won't have to do so much."

"Nothing is too much for you Esme."

Esme smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
