章 43: Chapter 43: Finals Week Pt.2

As the group made their way to the cafeteria, they noticed that some of the Rune Wardens and Eternal Wardens were already there. They exchanged nods and greetings with each other, but everyone seemed to be focused on their own thoughts.

Once they had grabbed their breakfast and sat down at a table together, Arin started the conversation. "How did everyone do on their finals yesterday?"

Azazelith spoke up first. "I think I did pretty well on the magical item and creation final. The practical portion was a bit nerve-wracking, but I think Kira and I handled it pretty well."

Kira nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it was definitely intense, but I'm confident we did a good job."

Luke chimed in. "The magical combat and theory final was tough, but I think Sam and I held our own. It was definitely a challenge, but we pushed through it."

Sam smiled at Luke. "Yeah, we definitely worked well together. I think we did pretty well on the practical portion."

Arin then shared his experience. "The history of magic final was a bit challenging, but I think I did pretty well. The essay portion was particularly interesting. I wrote about the mage war that created the magical wasteland in the country to the south."

As they finished up breakfast and headed out of the cafeteria, they wished each other good luck for their remaining finals and headed off to school teleporting away.

Arin and Azazelith made their way to Magical Combat and Theory class.

As Arin and Azazelith entered the classroom, Professor Adalyn announced the start of the exam. The students were assigned to teams, and Arin was paired with a fellow student named Julian. They were then matched up against another team, consisting of two skilled mages.

The first part of the Final Exam was a Practical Team Duel wherein teams of two would face off and demonstrate their knowledge and skill in magical combat by defeating the other team. Score will be based on your strategy, use of magic and overall teamwork will be scored out of 100 Points.

Arin and Julian quickly discussed their strategy and spells, deciding to focus on defense and counterattacks. As the battle began, they were immediately put to the test, with their opponents unleashing a barrage of spells. Arin and Julian were able to hold their ground, countering the attacks with their own.

Throughout the battle, Arin and Julian communicated well, coordinating their movements and spells to keep their opponents on the defensive. They successfully avoided being hit by any major attacks, while also landing a few hits of their own.

As the battle came to a close, Professor Adalyn declared Arin and Julian the victors. They had successfully demonstrated their knowledge and skill in magical combat, earning a score of 90 out of 100 points.

After the battle, Arin and Julian shook hands with their opponents, and then returned to their seats to await the next part of the exam.

Then it was Azazelith's turn

Azazelith stepped up to the challenge and teamed up with a fellow student named Damian. They were assigned to battle against a team consisting of two other students, and the battleground was set up in the sparring room. Azazelith and Damian immediately started strategizing and discussing their approach. They decided to focus on defense and evasion, while also looking for openings to strike with offensive spells.

As soon as the match started, Azazelith and Damian put their plan into action. They dodged and weaved around their opponents' attacks while also countering with their own spells. Azazelith cast a spell that created a shield around both herself and Damian, blocking the incoming spells from the opposing team. Damian followed up with a barrage of lightning spells that took their opponents by surprise.

The battle continued to be intense, with both teams exchanging spells and strategies. Azazelith and Damian's teamwork and communication proved to be the deciding factor, and they were able to defeat their opponents. Professor Adalyn was impressed with their performance and awarded them a score of 95 out of 100.

The Second part of the Exam Consisted of A Written Analysis of a Famous Magic Battle from history and write a detailed paper about the strategy, Tactics and magic used by both sides with a max score of 50 points

Arin decides to write about the Battle of the Burning Forest, which took place 200 years ago between the armies of the kingdoms of Ignis and Glacia. In his analysis, Arin describes how the Ignis army used their superior fire magic to set the forest ablaze, forcing the Glacia army to retreat to a more open field where their heavy cavalry could be used effectively.

He goes on to explain how the Glacia army employed a variety of ice and water spells to extinguish the flames and create a fog that obscured the Ignis army's vision. This allowed the Glacia army to launch a surprise attack on the Ignis army, catching them off guard.

Arin then breaks down the individual tactics used by the commanders on both sides, detailing their spell choices and their overall strategy. He also provides a critical analysis of what each side could have done better to achieve victory.

Overall, Arin's analysis is well-researched and thoughtful, earning him a score of 45 out of 50 points.

Azazelith begins her analysis by describing the infamous demon battle that took place in the demon realm approximately 200 years ago. The battle was fought between the demon lord Zethar and his followers against a group of powerful sorcerers who were attempting to stop his reign of terror.

Azazelith analyzes the tactics and spells used by both sides during the battle, describing how the sorcerers were able to exploit Zethar's weaknesses and use their own powerful spells to counter his attacks. She also notes the creative strategies employed by Zethar's forces, such as using illusion spells to confuse their enemies and summoning powerful demon creatures to fight on their behalf.

Overall, Azazelith concludes that the battle was won through a combination of strategic planning, quick thinking, and powerful magic. She notes that both sides displayed impressive skill and knowledge of magical combat, but ultimately the sorcerers were able to overcome Zethar's forces and bring an end to his tyranny.

Professor Adalyn is impressed with Azazelith's analysis, noting her attention to detail and insightful commentary on the battle. She awards her a score of 49 out of 50 points for her performance on the exam.

Moving on to the final two parts of the exam which were done back to back.

Arin nodded, taking a deep breath and preparing himself for the next two parts of the exam. He knew that they would be challenging, but he was confident in his abilities. For Part 3, he stood in the center of the room, waiting for the surprise magical attack. Suddenly, a burst of fire shot towards him from behind. Arin quickly reacted, spinning around and raising his hands and erecting a wall of stone to block the attack. He then countered by sending the slab of stone back towards the direction of the fire extinguishing it.

The professor nodded, impressed with Arin's quick thinking and defensive abilities. He then moved onto the final part, the offensive maneuvers. Arin focused his mind and began to draw upon his magical energy, feeling it surge through him. Suddenly, a target appeared at the other end of the room - a wooden dummy, shaped like a demon.

Without hesitation, Arin launched a powerful spell at the dummy, a bolt of lightning arcing from his fingertips as he snapped his fingers towards the target. The spell struck true, hitting the dummy square in the chest and leaving behind a blackened scorch mark. The professor nodded once again, impressed with Arin's offensive capabilities.

Arin let out a sigh of relief, feeling proud of himself for completing the exam to the best of his abilities. He gathered his belongings and headed out of the classroom, ready to take on whatever challenges the rest of the day may bring.

Based on his performance, Arin scores 23 out of 25 points for Part 3: Defensive Maneuvers and 24 out of 25 points for the final part: Offensive Maneuvers. Overall, he scores 94 out of 100 for the final exam.

Azazelith stood ready as the professor unleashed a surprise lighting bolt. Without hesitation, she raised her hand and summoned a sphere of water, deflecting the attack and buying herself time to counterattack. She quickly scanned the area for any other threats, her eyes darting back and forth as she remained on high alert. Despite the unexpected nature of the attack, Azazelith remained calm and focused, reacting quickly and efficiently. When the attack finally ceased, she breathed a sigh of relief and awaited her score.

For the final part of the exam, Azazelith was tasked with casting a powerful offensive spell on a target. She waited nervously as the target was revealed - a large, heavily-armored dummy in the shape of a dragon. She took a deep breath and raised her hand, calling upon her knowledge of powerful Radiant Blast spell. With a fierce determination, she unleashed a blast of light, watching as they shot forth and struck the dummy with incredible force. The force of the impact shook the arena, and the dummy was left smoldering and charred from the intense heat. Azazelith couldn't help but smile as she awaited her score, feeling confident in her abilities.

Based on her performance, Azazelith scores 23 out of 25 points for Part 4: Defensive Maneuvers and 25 out of 25 points for the final part : Offensive Maneuvers. Overall, she scores 98 out of 100 for the final exam.

They had to identify ten different magical creatures and explain how to handle and care for one of them. In the practical application section, they were paired up to handle and care for a randomly assigned magical creature, which they did well in. They also answered questions about the creature to the professor. Overall, they felt confident about their performance in the final.
