"Spawn wouldn't be the right word, but I suppose it appears as such?" calmly responded Axiolypito with a slight smile, staying perfectly still.
The king's blue eyes shined with a light of understanding and he slightly frowned, raising his staff, he lightly struck the ground.
The sound of the metal striking reverberated across the room, bouncing back and forth for a few moments.
He reached out for something inside of his dark mantle, surprising the wretch as he held another of the purple crystals.
Well, calling what he was holding a crystal wasn't right, it was just a bunch shard and dust, he dropped it to the ground and stepped over it.
"Have you come for the rift? For the creature above, or maybe both?" questioned the king of the deep, not quite sounding agressive, simply ready to get to it if necessary.
Axio simply raised his hands, showing the king his palms.
"I only want to leave and go back to the surface, I mean no harm to you or your people" the monster played it nice, having ascended to a higher realm, his rightful place, he didn't need to lie to himself.
He didn't want to have a confrontation with the man in front of him, man who seemed to be lacking any and all that could be useful when living under water.
"Leave? You want to leave?" his tone didn't convey much, he remained perfectly composed but it seemed obvious that he didn't feel like this was right.
"Why would one with an abyssal heart wish to get further from a breach? Why would a brethren of that beast strung up above not want anything to do with it?" wondered the king aloud as looked at both of the thing he mentioned.
Axiolypito felt like he should plead his case some more but the king put his hand up, indicating him that it wasn't necessary to speak.
"The exit is right this way, I believe your words, so, on this basis, I shall let you leave" he pointed to his left, the wall there may seemed to different from the rest at a first glance, but it clearly had a somewhat hidden door.
It was the only place where no banner hung, it had been tucked to the side.
The banner in question fell back in place the moment Axio tried taking a step in the direction of the door, put into place by a gust of wind that couldn't have possibly made its way there naturally.
"On this basis" repeated the Old Hadal King, his eyes turning somewhat sad.
"I know very well who you are, Axiolypito, the Dark Blue Moon, Wretched Lord, Fourth Minister of the Obsidian Queen" he remained in a non-offensive position but his intentions were clear, even if he didn't emmit any bloodlust or the likes.
Someone as dignified as him didn't need to lower himself to be understood, his speech was enough to convey it all.
Axio narrowed his eyes at him.
'Does he know everything that happens and is said in his kingdom? I never mentioned the title given by the Obsidian Queen however, neither which minister of hers I was...' he also remained in a non-aggresive pose.
The two of them stared at each other in silence for a few more moments.
"I know that my kingdom is no more, I knew that it was doomed the moment that foreigner stimulated the rift using that crystal, no matter how quickly I disposed of the venerer and blocked off the breach, the Abyss had already extended its toxic influence all over the ocean" he shooked his head dejectedly.
"I was too late to return to my duties when that stranger came with a hope to bring back my dearest, I shouldn't have wallowed in sorrow for so long, the fall of my land and death of my people is entirely my fault" he frowned as he rose his staff high in the air.
"I thank you for defeating the stranger, I admit that I let him be only so he could suffer as he was slowly consumed, it wasn't proper of me to enact such punishment when I was also to blame, so once again, you have my thanks"
He placed his other hand on the handle of his staff, slamming the spike part of it into the ground with great force.
Even Axiolypito, with his poor mana senses could feel it, how every single bits of natural mana floating everywhere in the room changed and became the king's own.
"However, for corrupting Nartak and daring to lay your hands on my beloved's crown, I shall not thank you, my apologies for engaging in something as trival as vengeance once again, but it is all that I have left for now, that and my strength" he seemed to be sadder than he was angry.
"Hadal Zone, Pressure" he murmured something under his breath and suddenly, it seemed like pressure of the stagnating ocean was mere child's play, despite being able to crush most to death in an instant.
The Old Hadal King as just extended a zone, which for magical scholars, meant that he had taken over the natural mana in a certain area and turned it into his own, allowing him to cast spells all over the room or to create spells from wherever without incredible ease and little focus, as well as avoid expanding his own mana or even refill his own by absorbing it.
Few could manage it, even fewer could do it over such a large area and even less than that could maintain it for more than a few instants, only undeads could perhaps compete with him due their immunity to the pain and strain but on those attempting it.
As casually as he had extended this zone, he cast a room-wide spell to simulate the greatest pressure the Old Hadal King knew of, which surpassed everything Axio had ever experienced.
The hadal depths of the oceans were incredibly large, much deeper than one could imagine, was it known how deep one could truly get, another name would have been thought for areas beyond hadal.
The initial pressure took him by surprise by Axiolypito quickly adapted, standing back to his feet as he bit the inside of his cheek, letting the blighted blood flow into his mouth.
