As the kingdom of Roderst was busy trying to find out how they could raise a hero like the vision told them to, their main opponent, the barely budding rule of the Obsidian Queen had another problem to settle.
Taking advantage of the fact that Roderst was listening word for word to the vision of their drunken mage and wouldn't act for quite some time, the queen and all of her ministers had been gathered in one of those underground rooms the queen had carved out all over the place.
Today's topic was simple, The Condemned had brought back the corpse of a creature that had attacked him and they had to discuss what to make of it.
The thing was that this thing had sprouted out of a human body and its name was a cause of wonder, the Sixth Minister was one with generous system capacities, and such, every kill he commited, the name and species of whatever he killed was told to him.
The being that had risen from the crushed body of the human was some sort of pure white sludge, when it had been alive, the monster had been much larger than it is now and had had a set of two eyes.
Dark scleras, bright yellow irises and pupil just as dark as the scleras.
They were nowhere to be found after the creature had been killed, much like the nightmarish jaw it had unfolded, only the sludge was left behind.
The Condemned had jumped away from it before it could wrap around his body, he had almost used his breath attack to engulf it but knowing that he couldn't completely destroy its body lest all proof of its existence would be gone.
He unleashed his lava breath at the base of the creature, it had no feet and was just sticking to the ground where it had appeared as it stretched toward the dragon as it also widened as if making a net out of itself.
The creature had emmited some sort of scream, closer to a laugh as it saw the lava quickly hardening, having been standing in a pool of it, the monster quickly found out that it no longer had any footing as the base of its body cracked and sent it barreling toward the ground, where it splashed everywhere and thinned out.
The minister hadn't simply used his elemental breath to spew lava but had also added his mana to the mix, turning the wide area he had covered into a zone under his magical control.
Using his pure mana to keep the creature from gathering its mass together, leaving it as a wide, shallow puddle of whiteness.
This was what had truly forced him to not do his original job, he had no good way to kill this thing quickly and without erasing its whole existence, touching it wasn't an option, so, he simply maintained it down with intense mana pressure until it finally died.
Had he not had the system telling him directly, he wouldn't have believed that it had died, for he didn't receive any XP from it, this was generally a sign that a skill had been used to fake death but no, the harrowing nightmare simply didn't reward anything.
The Condemned explained all of this to his peers and to his queen, the Obsidian Queen tried probing the thing but it had lost much of its stretching abilities.
"This thing bears no sign of lingering life or undeath, it seems like it was neither alive or dead, this must mean that it was but a construct..." spoke the First Minister, her voice sounding quite soft for a lich.
She didn't finish her sentence however, she had gone where the fight had taken place as well and yet, she hadn't found anything that could have been powering this so-called 'construct'.
It had had no spirit or mind just stuck to it for she found no traces of it and neither did it have a more obvious core, otherwise, the Sixth Minister would have found it out immediately and just taken it out of the sludge.
'Perhaps it is a parasite that was feeding on the host's life force and it simply died after its stock ran out?' chimmed in the Faceless Lord but the Cradled Lich just shook her hooded skull, it was a good guess but there would still have been some lingers if that had been the case.
The Third and Seventh Ministers didn't say anything, Sovereign Of Flesh couldn't say anything anyways and for The Scourge, it was dubious if they could either.
The Second Minister, Undying Prophet just rubbed his newly grown white beard as if he was going to make a revelation, however...
"I don't have a clue, I have yet to fight against something like this" he responded with his gruff and deep voice, hitting his chest with his fist, making the sound of metal echo in the cave.
Unlike, the typical green skinned orcs that ran around wearing loincloths and just eating whatever attack was coming their way with nothing but pure muscle, he was a bit more refined and wore a chestplate.
"Any thoughts, Wretched Lord?" the orc threw the hot potato to the last minister, Axiolypito had yet to say anything, not even a rude remark, because he was completely focused on something far more pressing.
The crystal, who had laid low ever since it had summoned The Heretic had started acting up the moment he had been teleported near this carcass.
Except that it wasn't just warming up like before, he had turned his back to the ground and walked a distance away as he looked down upon the crystal.
Yellow eyes were staring at him and a voice was constantly speaking in his mind, much different than were Faceless was doing it, this voice seemed absolutely poisonous and sounded like it was trying to rip his mind apart, it wanted to but didn't for some reason.
The voice, slowly becoming multiple voices, was incomprehensible, it was speaking another language and even had it been speaking the one Axio understood, he probably wouldn't have been able to discern any words.
Pushing the crystal into his coat but keeping a hand onto it, he stepped closer to the corpse and confirming something, he said his piece.
"Yes, I do have a thought, green man" he snapped his fingers with a smug expression.
"I'll take care of our new adversary, you can all sit back and watch" he declared to the minister, turning his back to the queen.
