Appearing back inside her own room, Ilyana stared at the bed where Lev was sleeping peacefully. His breathings have became normal and the compress on top of his head seemed to help lessen the fever that had made him faint. She sat down on the wooden chair beside the bed and slowly slipped her fingers under his hand. Her eyes studied the defenseless Lev and stopped upon his neck. 

Moving forward, she settled her hand around his neck. Measuring the size, she thought of how easy it was for her to merely tighten her grip and squeeze the remains breaths from Lev. It was so easy… so easy to kill him. Her jaw clenched as she imagined if he hadn't fainted today and instead collapsed without breathing— she would have her hands drenched by blood by killing all those doctors in Shanghai, she thought to herself. 

While she can protect him physically, there were still others death threats around Lev that she couldn't protect him from.
