Lycia
When we landed, a limousine was waiting for us on the runway. Three guards stepped out, but the driver remained in the car. I knew it was probably overkill to have that many guards meet us. But after the attacks, I don’t blame Logan for not wanting to take any chances. Neither did I. After all, we had more than just ourselves to think about.
“Are you ready?” Logan stood beside me at the top of the airstairs, a small smile lighting his lips.
“I’m ready if you are.” When we descended the stairs, we would leave our honeymoon behind and step into the real world. It would no longer be just the two of us but outside forces dictating our actions. I just hoped our marriage could survive it.
“Somehow, we needed to find balance while holding firmly to each other.”
Logan nodded, a small smile lighting his lips. “Just promise me that nothing will change when we get back home.”
