Lycia
When we walked in, everything stopped.
People stopped eating.
People stopped talking.
People stopped working, setting up the buffet.
And all of them were staring at me.
He held my hand firmly as he led me through the silent room.
Then an elegantly dressed woman with blonde hair that fell into waves over her shoulders walked toward me and smiled as everyone watched. “You must be Lycia. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Tondae, Logan’s mother.” Surprisingly, the woman didn’t look a day over twenty-five. “Would you care to join us? I’m sorry our first meeting isn’t formal, but—”
“No, this is fine. Thank you.” I smiled as she pulled me in for a feminine hug. “It’s nice to meet you, too.”
Her mother looped her arm in mine, the epitome of grace, elegance, and class. “Come, dear. You must tell me all about yourself.” She glanced over at Logan and smiled. “After all, you are the one who captured my son’s heart.”
I looked up at him, and a small smile lit his lips.
