章 53: Ava

Aleksi had been upset lately. Distant. He no longer followed me when I went to train. I no longer asked him. After so many times of him saying no I figured he had other things to do. The other commanders had been more than happy to join me. So I was finally making friends.

I kept telling myself everything was fine. Yet, every time I returned to the Asura quarters... the looks they gave me said otherwise. It was like someone had drawn lines in the sands. Like sides had been chosen. Yet, no one had told me. I had been left in the dark and it was clear something was going on. But their minds were silent. There was no rolling turmoil to their thoughts. No yelling. No screaming. Nothing.

And so I told myself everything was fine. Even as my instincts yelled otherwise. 

I mean maybe they had realized what I and the others already knew. I could not lead them. Training with the other groups had proven I could lead just fine. If those I was leading could understand me.
