He was very sure that this alpha would give him more headache in the future with how possessive and overprotective he would be, but then he wouldn't complain so much, since he was very happy to finally see Cane got what he deserved and fate was not too cruel on him. 

More so, he got a glimpse of how Cane would treat Iris, since he had witnessed firsthand how the alpha was with Leane when she was pregnant. Probably, his tendency to be overprotective could be worst, giving how dire the situation they were now and the history of Iris's health.

"A hug will not hurt her," Ethan grumbled. 

On the other hand, Iris started laughing. She took the initiative to let go of Cane and approached Ethan. She gave the gamma a big hug so he could stop sulking. She felt like Ethan was more brother than the one she had. She liked the gamma a lot.
