Iris couldn't believe Cane would say something like that to her. She was well aware that Cane was really good with his words, but he was using that skill on her now and she couldn't help but turn so red, while the Alpha stared at his mate with fascination in his dark eyes.

"I thought you invited another man to our bedroom to bar the door," Cane said in a dark voice and this left Iris stunned when he put it that way.

"No! What are you trying to imply? Joel is just a boy!" Iris panicked a little, afraid Cane would misunderstand the situation. She didn't want to put Joel in trouble, moreover, what Cane implied was a serious accusation.

However, Cane simply nibbled on her lip before he lifted his head to see the confusion and anxiousness in her blue eyes. "I know," he said simply. "But, people who don't like you and the enemy will not care about such details. Be careful."
