A key is not to call the decision maker but to make the decision maker call you.

Preeti, bhanu, gokul and I, Were speaking about how beautiful the house is, finally when dad, mom, uncle ram, sesh, Varun came looking tired, but I can't exactly pinpoint the expression when they saw me, before turning it into a blank face.
Sesh and uncle welcomed every one of us, we greeted uncle, who hugged me saying he missed me. I smiled returning back the hug saying I did missed him too
Uncle Ram asked us all to excuse Ram as he is in hid office in a video meeting, as We went to have dinner, while Ram uncle asked to send the food to yash room for his to the helpers.
The rectangular table was too big to hold about twenty peoples, with uncle in head chair and to his right dad, next to him mom, me bhanu and Preethi. While on left to Uncle was sesh, Varun, Gokul and Nadan.
The dinner was amazing with many varieties, seriously why this much of varieties?
Chicken sweet corn soup and fish fry is too yummy that it filled my stomach in instant than the other good tasty dishes.
In dinner uncle ram asked about what my cousin were doing and same formal question they ask to a young people they first see. And I actually zoomed out of the conversation enjoying the flavours of the foods.
After dinner we came to living room and canceled the tour to the house as we were all too full to move. Even though we were full, we can't say no to ice cream. and so we are now currently feasting on ice cream .
Dad, mom and uncle left us to discuss their boring grown up topics.
We are sitting in a circle on the ground leaning on a pillow, sofa or table or something with our legs extended. I am leaning on the sofa, To my right, Nadan texting to his friend, across me is Varun and Sesh hushing themselves about what they only know. Gokul and Preeti were sitting between Varun and nadan, speaking about their work. Bhanu between Sesh and I, is currently speaking with her fiancé Praveen and blushing about something he said.
I am staring at her now, after a few minutes she kept the phone glaring at us as we didn’t leave our interest from them, that we are teasing her now with their conversation.
/"Ketu, Say us about your dream man?/" That question of sesh made everyone stare at me, my cheeks started heating. OMG!
/"Ketu is blushing, blushing like crazy, crazy Girl/" stupid Bhanu smirking back cockily at me, this is what I sung when she kept the phone.
/"Ketu, you are now blushing way more crazily than bhanu/"And that made both bhanu and I to say nadan shut his mouth.
/"Ketu, you have to control my dear. I think you will have a heart attack even if your husband just speaks with you./"I glared at preethi.
/"shut up guys./"
/"fine! Then tell us about your dream man?/"
/"I don't know him./"
/"what? You would have least dreamt to have some qualities in your husband right.?/" Preethi asked making me roll my eyeballs at her.
/"fine! First you say./"
/" As you all know, I said okay for Chandu, is he ticked the maximum category, I dreamt for?/"We all teased her, But right now I am tense and praying to god that they should not come to me again.
/"Now, l tell us about yours Ketu?/" great sesh!
/"Maybe taller than me, should not be dark? really I don't know./"
/"Come on don’t be shy!/"bhanu tickled me.
/"I just really didn’t think too much about my marriage details yet guys.
I have always thought my marriage is going to be arranged marriage and never really cared as I thought you guys know to pick a guy who is good for me, that he and his family will take care of me well. /" and sighed.
Sesh and Varun had some look on their faces, while others just stared at me, knowing my uneasiness nadan changed the topic asking me to start thinking as I am next in line to Bhanu and preethi.
Even though we are like Tom and Jerry, we always have each other's back.
/"I am feeling sleepy. I didn't sleep for about 36 hrs./" Following nadan, Everyone said how we are feeling tired too, that decided to call it a night.
Sesh said okay to give us a tour of the house tomorrow, showed everyone's room for the night, biding our good nights, left to our rooms Except nadan, who wants to speak with Varun .
The room given to me is big and painted in cream color paint, there is a queen size wooden bed in the center, wrapped in white bed cover.
there was a night stand beside it with a night lamp on it.
On the right there is two cupboards and to the left there is a bathroom, which has a bathtub. Great, I am taking a bath in it tomorrow. After washing my face, brushing my teeth, emptying my bladder, I came out of the bathroom to see it's 11.30p.m and was about to change into a night dress and get to bed.
when I heard someone knocking on the door, I opened the door to see my parents, uncle Ram, Varun Sesh,and Nadan.
/"hmm...what happened?/" I asked unsurely as they are standing silent.
/"can we talk?/"
/"hmm . Yes,dad/"
/"Come with us/" we all went to the lobby on the floor and all sat on the sofas following dad.
/"Ketu/"
/"Yes, uncle/"
Uncle started saying to me That a girl named Chandini had runaway with someone. who is the girl that they decided as the bride to his son yash. they selected her because my dad didn't like to send me to my in-laws house in near future as I was the his and his wife's choice to be their son's bride.
Now, my dad said okay to give my hand in yash's hand, seeing him broken and he said even though he loves to have me as his daughter in law. He wants my acceptance, that of I say okay the engagement and marriage continues with I, being yash's bride. If not it's ok that we call off the arrangements.
he left Saying to take a good decision for me that he will respect and support it no matter what it is.
My dad said sorry and said no matter whatever my decision he will support me and asked me to forgive him, left.
My mom said me to make a decision that I won't regret, she will be there for me always, left.
/"I am going to my room/" I excused myself to my room and locked it before anyone else said anything to me.
What am I supposed to say? How am I supposed to decide by morning? Is it good to say yes to marry a person I haven't even seen? will I regret if I say no? Will I regret saying yes? what am I supposed to say god? I said to myself to cool down as I am panicking. I started thinking what I know about him.
I have heard, he looks handsome. And he is 5 years older than me and that makes him 24 years old. He is a good man that My parents like him and my brother says he is a trustworthy friend too. His family members are good, uncle likes me and I guess Sesh likes me too . I too like uncle and sesh, they care for me.
How did my father even accept to give my hand in yash's hand? He even made his sisters accept that Bhanu and Preethi got to stand on their own legs before they got married? Uncle did say my dad was not interested in marrying me early and that’s why they had to look for someone else for yash. From When my dad became a great supporter of inter-caste marriages? He said that while his friend is broken. Can I adjust with their culture, If I marry him.?
But I don't still know should I say yes or no.
My father gave word, He has never back stepped from his word. What if I say no? and that affects his pride, Will he hate me? no, he said he will support my decision no matter what. what should I say now god?
feeling thirsty, went out of the room to have water to see sesh in the lobby.
/"Ketu.?'
/"hmmm. sesh./"
/"are you okay.?/"
/"don't know./"
/"sesh…..can you give me water.?/"
/"hmmm! follow me to the kitchen/"
I followed him, what is he doing here without sleeping? isn't his room on the floor above us? Was he waiting for my answer? would he like me to be his sister -in -law or hate me if I saw no? oh my god! We reached the kitchen and he gave me a water bottle, I drunk the water
/"thanks sesh./"
/"welcome/"
/"Why are you here alone, Not feeling sleeping?/"
/"Nadan and Varun were also here, They just left Because Nadan got a severe headache, As there is not a stock of tablets in the house or we don’t know where the milk and other things to put coffee are either.
Not wanting to disturb the maids as it is 2:15a.m, Varun took Nadan to buy him coffee and tablets./"
/"why are you guys awake.?/"
/"because we are worried about you./"I sighed and stopped him from continuing
/"what do you people want me to say? If you want me to say yes, then you arrange it. If you want me to say no, Then you cancel it. What do you expect from me to say.?/"
/"Your decision about your life's future, We can't decide your life Ketu. We can only support or give our opinions, Ketu./" I sighed, he hugged me as if he got me, made me sit on the counter.
/"We understand it's difficult to make a decision, asking it over a night period is too much. You know you are a very good girl, just accepted me as your brother as soon as I asked you.
I know that it's not that easy to accept a man to be your life partner in a second and also when you haven't seen him or spoken with him.
If you think he liked chandini to accept her as his wife, Then my answer is NO. He just accepted because of me and my dad's pressure, if that matters to you.
I like you so much as my sister. But we are not really related. I love to have you as my sister- in- law. As you will become my sister for real. But even if you won't be my real sister . I will love you as a real brother.
So, Don't worry about whether I hate you. You said your thoughts out loud when you thought that/" oh my god! I started laughing thinking about my stupidity, Sesh too joined me to laugh.
/"You look good when you are laughing. Don't be sad, it has been years hearing out loud laughing in this house. But today we experienced it as soon as you entered the house./"
/" I think you will allow me inside your house even if I say no to your brother?/"
/"We will,/" he smiled genuinely and then I got an idea.
/"sesh, do you think your brother would have slept?/"
/"I don't think so, saw the lights are on in his room before 10 minutes we came here, Why?/"
/"I just want to speak with him?/" Would I speak with him? What would I speak with him ?
/"oh! what?/"this is a bad idea.
/"I don't know! But I want to speak with him. I don't think I can speak with him in person./"
/" 'I don't know ?’ You can speak with him on the phone. I can call for you /" he took the intercom and started pressing some digits. Not knowing what to speak with him, I stopped him
/"No! just give me the number. I will call him, After I get the courage to speak with him or after I find what to speak with him./"
/"Okay! As you say, Give me your mobile. I will save the number for you, I don't have a mobile with me to send you./"
/"mine is in the room./"
/"Okay, Let’s get your phone then to save his number that you can call him, when you find what to ask and COURAGE./" And we both smiled at his pointed imitation of my voice.
We reached the room, found my mobile in the night stand.
I unlocked my mobile and gave him my phone and he started typing the phone
/"Don’t call and cut the call as he will call again, as you are calling in the night. So call only when you get the courage, Okay./"I nodded as I got it to see him pressing the call button.
What the hell? I snatched the phone from his hand And ended the call before yash could attend.
/"Why could you do that? . What will I say him if he calls me back sesh.?/" Asked him angrily.
/"I know, you know what you want to ask and hear from him to make your decision deep inside you. But you don't have the courage to call him. And how to ask your question. So, I helped you. /"My phone started vibrating, flashing yash’s name.
/"You can attend the call and ask those questions to hear the answers. I will leave you guys alone, But attend./" He left Closing my door.
Should I attend or not?
