Screaming in excitement, the children of the village swarm around Jules Matabele as he makes his way across the sun baked bare earth of the village centre, the cooking fire embers still smoldering from the night before, half starved curs run from his approach with their tails between their legs as he moves towards the council tree where a group of elders, already gathered watch the policeman. Stopping at a respectful distance, Jules lifts his right hand in greeting.

/"I see you oh wise ones./"

A tall slender man spits tobacco juice onto the ground and lifts his eyes to meet the visitor.

/"We see you Mister Policeman…we are honored by your visit, come sit with us and tell us of what you seek./"
